Default Stingray New build

Today I laid the foundation for my next build, a 32 inch Stingray sub, Its not as big as some peeps wanted it but I considered it for a while and decided that a 40mm jet in it would propel it thru the water in a very speedy manner giving the builder the option of dynamic diving or static. The other reason is there are a couple of kits floating around out there at 3 foot so as I said I like to be different.

Had a bit of a busy spell today, cut the ribs, glued them in and back filled with card to limit the amount of filler I would use. The belly on skydiver was made the same way but had plasticard filling, so as card is being used here and is not as strong, I need to make sure the seperate compartments of filler meet so as to be more stable. As you can see I have drilled holes in the ribs to allow the filler to flow thru so to speak.

Today I filled and sanded the bottom hull, I now need to burn out the plastic and refill with filler.

Try that out in a river or pond and someone will attempt to catch it with bait!

Had a bit of time off today so I went at it, The top layer needs softening a bit but other than that I'm quite happy with how its turning out, the white bits are the torpedo "tubes" which will be placed in holes that I will cut out.

Did someone say 'buy one'?

Is that a possibility? If so you can colour me interested.

Always loved Stingray (had the Wave 1/35 version in my possession for a while, but never made it because I wasn't sure how long the vinyl it was made of would hold its shape)

Today I did a bit more, sorted the ratemaster bulb top and bottom and tweaked the missile tubes, they need a bit more I think and put the hulls together to make sure they will match out of the mould. need to tweak the upper bulge a bit as I was a bit heavy handed with the sanding on one side, lol.

I built one of those a few years ago, had to create plastic bulkheads to get it to keep its shape. lol.
