Default Ok confused

Hello all,

I am really confused, I purchased 1/16 aluminium rod to make the cage frames of my AIRFIX eagle with. but am wondering if they should have been thicker? I was going off a drawing as to thickness. but it looks like others used a thicker plastic rod?
Regards,
Chris

There are no doubt others here who have far greater knowledge of the true measurements than me, but from my rough-ish calculations that sounds about right. I think I worked out that the spine and main frames for the cages were 1/16 (1.5mm), with the thicker sleeves around 2mm, and the diagonal cross braces in the cages around 1mm. If you don't have access to the blueprints, you could scale them off the many photos of the 44" model. The Airfix structure was significantly beefed up, in some places almost twice as thick as it should have been.

Thanks for the reply mw12 appreciate it. yes I don't have the blue prints more than I can afford. so used these drawings to get my scale from.

No problem. Have a look at Kerimis' scratch-building thread also http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...ead.php?t=4861 He doesn't have the measurements in the thread, but he would probably let you know what tubing he used.

Those Eagle images are nice. Do you know who did them?
