Default Polar Lights 1/350 Scale TOS Enterprise

I received my lighting kit for the big Polar Lights TOS Enterprise Beasty last week, so I'm beginning to contemplate actual BUILDING the thing. It will be my next big project, right after I finish my Eagle. I'm just wondering if anyone else has started one of these, or maybe even finished one?

In answer to my own question, I found a thread over on the RPF Forum by one of our members, Jay Chladek

I got my kit, as well as the accessories kit (lighting, decals & brass), and additional brass from Paragrafix.

Looks like this will be an epic build but it will have to wait until I have finished a few other things like my 2nd 44" Eagle, and scratchbuilt Meta Probe in the same scale.

Those are AWESOME links, guys! Mucho obliged. The pics on the RPF site made me want to jump out of my seat and dance around the room. I am REALLY jazzed now to build this thing, but, like w8cmp, I have this other big beasty on my bench that I have to finish first.

Round-2 AMT had really outdid themselves.

Here are some more photos from around the web. I particularly like the one that compare the polar lights model next to the masters replicas enterprise and the original miniature.

Yeah I know its the first time i have ever seen that before. It looks cool even if its not exactly accurate. Im thinking about starting a new thread about it just to see what other modellers think. maybe some one else has try it too!

Personally I would steer clear of using aztek patterning because it just looks wrong. I would stick with subtle paneling at the most.

Here is more pictures i found. The first few are some guys 66 inch build but pay close attention to the next few. These are scenes from the redo of tos. Its CGI but look at the panel detail. Also wouldnt you like to find this in your yard one morning!

I was just looking at some CGI of the shuttle hanger bay from the remastered original series (CGI). I think I'd be much more inclined to go with the original scheme. I'm STILL having a lot of trouble trying to come to grips with what color to paint the model overall. Also, in the pics that jeb just posted, the ones of the built up model (the one that's inside a room), it looks like the nacelle end caps were frosted WAY too much - but, that's just my opinion and, since these are photos and not the real thing, I may be wrong (and probably am!)
