Hi all,
I really have got started on the Skydiver but thanks to all the people who have bought my first kit it has taken a while to show progress as I've been up to my ears casting Helijet parts. It's Studio scale , the small model, the diver section works out at 20 3/4 inches long and Sky One is 11 inches. So far I have fabricated the basic hull components from plastic tube, MDF, Jelutung and Chemiwood. Now I'm going to start adding the detailing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow. This has got to be one of the most complicated of the models to master, as there's just so much to get right. Just Sky 1 is enough of a heartache. Looks great so far.

Proportions look pretty spot on to me. The coning tower looks right, back end in the lower stern area may need a tad fattening up- I say this from the ref pictures I've seen given the way the letraset strips bulge. However as it is this looks incredibly promising.

Here's some early pictures of the skydiver being built. The basic construction is of MDF, PVC tubing, Chemiwood for the two outboard sections and Jelutung for the lower bulge, forward nose section and conning tower.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now for some more recent pictures , two shots of the conning tower showing the flooding holes and vents cut into the base shape, completion of the bulge and the beginnings of the detailing to the top of the conning tower. The white strip of evergreen is a guide to create the right curvature for the top of the rear of the conning tower ![]() ![]() Vents vents and more vents.... Detail for long side vents based on track components have been scratch built and then multiples cast. You can see many of the kit parts used to detail the skydiver. The four casing floodholes on each side are from the Scammel tank transporter kit and the other parts come from the Honest John rocket Launcher. |

Hi There's been a bit of a delay because I've been busy but I'm getting back into skydiver again. I have now completed most of the major components. Now it's time to put them all together to make sure they fit, then pull them all apart to mold them. Sky 1 is a pain in the neck. Getting the wings, engines and fusilage to line up with the diver section nearly drove me crazy. (wife complained about the language emanating from the office)
![]() Assembled sky 1. At this stage i'm still correcting position and shape so nothing has final finish yet ![]() The wings are quite different between the 3 sizes of Sky 1, this smallest version has much thicker wing sections ![]() Really starting to look the part, next step is to tear it down and complete the detail, ready to mold ![]() Top view--those troublesome engine pods - in the end I built a jig to line them up with the main hull. ![]() When you start to match detail you realise how fuzzy the reference shots are. Picked a few - Honest John piece on the right, the thin tube with triangles on the ends. Also B29, Scammel Tank transporter,007 auto Giro and Tilly the toiler parts. Does anyone know what the grill is at the top? I think it might be a Faller window frame. ![]() Forward end of Diver with front firewall from Scamel Tank Transporter, also fuel tank half and wheel hubs. More Tilly the Toiler and 007 auto giro bits ![]() First cast of wings and fuselage assembly. I've decided to concentrate on Sky 1 and release this first, then follw up with the diver ![]() Only a few more parts to finish : Engine pods Pilot Canopy frame small rocket nozzles or guns on side |

Would you consider to produce a limited run of this model
of Skydiver that you are building for anybody who would want one? |

Yes this is being done as a kit, I am in the process of finishing the last parts for the Sky 1, then I can finalize the price, Sky 1 will be realeased first, followed by the diver .
