The re-design of the cruiser has led to a re-think of the colour scheme as well ! ( A local shop has started stocking "Holts" auto paints and I've found a light grey that's great for "Imperial-style " ships ) As for the build , I'm more or less "snagging" now , fixing the little imperfections that result from a build that went together relatively quickly . I'm not 100% sure on the "sensor dish" , I may replace it with a smaller one .

Cool.... I actually like the sensor dish.. Gotta republic cruiser / falcon thing going on, kinda looks like it was built by the same shipyard.

How does this ship stand scalewise? Falcon size? Republic cruiser size? Smaller?
....and I haven't noticed any gun emplacements or any weapons at all. Is it an unarmed diplomatic cruiser? Like the Radiant vii in episode 1 or are they still to be decided?
I do love the overall look of this now, she's come together beautifully.
Well done Thunder, she is one cool ride worthy of the next Star Wars episode.....
Regards Andy

Well , while building the cruiser , I've been thinking of a scale of 1/72nd , which by my reckoning would make the ship around the size of a " Tantive" ( Blockade Runner) type ship .As for weapons , I plan on having a couple of cannons mid-ship , which I'll be putting together later this week . And the sensor dish has grown on me , so it'll be staying . ( It may even have come off an old "Falcon " kit !)

And speaking of weapons , here's the two laser cannons which'll be situated mid-ships , as well as one to be mounted at the rear of the ship . They're made from bits of scrap styrene with brass rod for the gun barrels .

( Sorry for the "soft " focus , I've only just put me 'specs on ! )

I've added the three laser cannons and a little more panel detail to the edge of the central fuselage . This is one of the areas that's a little "rough" ( to say the least !) due to the quick build of the majority of the fuselage . I was so keen to "go with the flow " and get the ship together , that little things like neat joins got overlooked ! I'm also adding more dark grey/black pastel washes to build up the shading . I reckon that as the ship operates in atmospheric conditions as well as space , it'd be liable to get pretty dirty and beat up . It still needs a bit of tidying up here and there , but I think I've actually reached that point where I'm beginning to be happy with the look of the model and it's starting to resemble the ship I have in my head !

Still keep coming back for a look at this beauty...

Is she all finished now Thunder?? Is this the finished article, as you mentioned she looks as you imagined in your head??
Love the guns and the dirtied up look, she is excellent!
Do you have some more scratch builds planned for the near future?
Hope to see more soon mate!
Happy Modelling.......
Regards Andy...

Not really done much on the Cruiser since these photos were taken Andy , but I consider her about 90% done . I mostly need to bring the under-side up to scratch and add a few markings to the top . I'd originally wanted some red markings , but have since decided on a darker grey . I've a few more scratchbuild ideas knocking around me brain , but work and 1/1 stuff has kept me too busy ! ( I've tinkered with a few of the Revell Star Wars kits though ). Hopefully , by the summer I'll have a bit more time for modelling . I still keep an eye on the forum , even if I haven't been posting , so what've you been up to ? We've not seen any of YOUR miniature marvels for a while !

Glad to see your still alive dude....
Look forward to the return of Thundergod and his stunning scratch builds... Lol... Summer cannot come quick enough!
I, like you have been busy elsewhere, still visiting ETF a couple of times a day myself too!
As far as builds go, I have a couple done and need posting but waiting as they have been entered in competitions.
Both surprisingly winning prizes!!
I have another anime build, and 2 forgotten classics, one from the telly, the other off the big screen!
Apart from that I have been building "real" kits from WW2 to improve my build skills and painting techniques....
Hopefully they are getting better..
I like you , will restart my build posts as the weather and real life issues get better!
Take care buddy, more soon please, and I'll do the same..
Regards Andy....

Cheers mate , I've also returned to my roots and dabbled with a couple of WW2 projects to keep my hand in and I've a couple of aircraft waiting in the wings ( so to speak ) .
