Default Tony Barnes - R.I.P.

For those who knew Tony Barnes, I have the very sad task of advising that he passed away his morning while in hospital. Not sure of the details yet, but they will be made available in due course.

Tony went to A&E yesterday, and his last Facebook post at about midnight said:

"Been in A&E for over four hours waiting to be moved to a ward. At least I can breathe albeit with an oxygen mask. In the words of the great Spike Milligan on his grave stone, 'I told you I was ill' "

I was proud to call Tony a friend, and I am mortified at his passing. My thoughts are with his family and his great friend Tony Freeman at this very difficult time...

Thankyou Chris for your kind words . It has been difficult today but I take huge comfort from the massive amount of love and respect that has already been shown for my friend all over the internet and Facebook . For those that can , please leave a message on Tony 's Facebook timeline which his daughters are monitoring. Many thanks .

I only got the chance to meet Tony a couple of times, but it was a pleasure.

RIP Tony :-(

I am very sad to hear this news.

I always enjoyed my chats with Tony at the various meets.

He was an incredibly skilled modeller, whose detailed painting work had me drifting around his display tables for hours on end. His painting work was the best I have ever seen.

My thoughts are with his family at this time.

R.I.P. Tony.

Enjoyed haggling with him over hi fantastic models he did as T & T
Got a TB2 flying under Zero X
Hawk crashing into a an Alpha Moonbase building
An Attack of the Crocodiles diorama
Plus an oil rig explosion(cotton wool died Red & Orange)
I met him at Fanderson 2005 first time & we made friends with a lovely Japanese couple
It was hard language wise but we all had a chin wag

Nice friendly bloke
