Default The REAL Big Bang? Could Be..!

We don't always hear adjectives like "spectacular" attached to new scientific discoveries, or the scientists themselves gushing like giddy school-kids; but if this news from the South Pole does indeed stand up to rigorous peer review, the night sky'll never be quite the same...

Inflation is needed to explain how widely-separated parts of the observable Universe can be so close to the same temperature: it posits that, when they were equalizing their temperature, they were not so widely separated.

Of course, if there is more than one region of space-time like our Universe, and more than one Big Bang, then the equalization could have happened even before our particular Big Bang, without the need for inflation.

its not the only signifier is it though..? I thought it wa pretty much the deal clincher..?

off the top of my head there's the red-shift of objects moving away from each other, I'm sure there's others

that said though I'm sure the theory would be overturned if better data came to light
