Default SHADO Mobile Transporter filming model

Sorry for duplicating this information but not many people visit the eBay thread.
Part of the SHADO Mobile transporter showed up on ebay!

Thanks to TerraForm1 for reposting the photos

Is the transporter model actually big enough to transport the SHADO Mobile filming models? Or did they use smaller mobiles for these shots?

Also as a bit of fun, check out this lego version!

Is there a source for more photographs of this model? Or could more be taken? I would be fascinated to see more details of this.

You're welcome Jim:
ODAS: Maybe a polite email through Ebay to the seller (who looks to be the owner of the miniature) might get a favourable response for more photos.

As to the scale relationship of mobiles to transporter: Perhaps someone in the group could compare the Tiger Joe wheel on the mobile to the Johnny Lightning wheel on the transporter, since their real world dimensions are known...
I notice that the SFX team did a little bit of cheating with the rear door/ramp in order to get the mobiles out. It's a little different in each episode.

Fab drawing Jonathan, I'd love to build a mobile transporter to go with my studio scale mobile but I would have no where to keep something that size. I'm already running out of room for my projects I'll have to move!

Agree, excellent drawings Jonathon.

Assuming the original studio transporters were the same scale to the Mobiles, then they must have been around 4-5 feet in length.

Not much room for error in manoeuvring the Mobiles inside the transporters either!

Many thanks, the full sized drawings can be seen here:
http://arthurtwosheds.deviantart.com/

I'm slowly working my way through all the major and guess vehicles from the APF and Century 21 productions. I also realized while doing the drawings that the Markers Universal trucks could not carry the SHADO Control mobile.
on my deviantart page there is also the C-184 Mobile transporter showing its internal load of mobiles.
Right now I'm working on large scale drawings of the Ultra Probe and the Altares which I hope will be popular on here.

Really nice work, Jonathan E! There still are a lot of APF and Century 21 craft to be drawn

I am especially looking forward to your Altares drawing. When I built a model of the Altares a few years ago, there were some proportion issues with the kit. So I hope, you will be the one to get it right! :thumb up: Cheers, Ron. :thumb up:

I took a lot of photos of the Altares at Space City in Blackpool back in 1978, so I'm hoping my version will be as accurate as possible. Also because they are large drawings I usually add extra surface detail to make it more like a real world aerospace vehicle.
At the moment I'm revising and completing Captain Scarlet vehicles as Chris Bishop from the Captain Scarlet website wants to host them on his revamped vehicles pages.

Great! This is exactly what I was hoping for…
The model attached to my post above had a CM which was too short and some other issues, but all in all, with some hours of work it turned out quite well. With your drawings, I might go for another Altares model, just a bit more accurate and of course bigger!

Any chance of posting your Altares photo's ? i'm trying to gather enough reference for a future build but decent detailed images are hard to come by.
