Default Space 1999 video game for PC!

Hi all,

thought you might be interested in this news. I have released a demo of a game I'm developing for the PC in virtual reality. If you'd like to have look what it's like at this early stage there's a video available on youtube and a demo version if you have an Oculus rift virtual reality headset.

When played on an Oculus Rift VR headset the Eagles are 1:1 life size and you can walk around them base and watch them take off/land/flyby as if you really were an astronaut on Moonbase Alpha.

You don't need a VR headset to view it though it's highly recommended.

So,m the oculus headset is not haunted and doesn't make you see your worst nightmare in mirrors?

In excellent 3-d?

Nope, you're just transported to Moonbase Alpha and can watch Eagles taking off and landing in 1:1 scale through the magic of technology

Had a good 3D VR system before but it would does not work with FlatScreen LCD monitors- not going to buy another for quite a while.

The premise sounds good, going to check it out when I get home tonight (in 2D)

Update: Working towards version 1.1

Added new features to my Space 1999 VR experience, You can now drive the moon buggy and the Hawk formation is flying in it's proper livery. Also new is your 'body' is now visible and wearing a basic version of a space suit. This will be improved but is a good placeholder for now.

I downloaded the Windows version and I get "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running".

I'm running Windows 7 32-bit. I would just be running it in 2D since I don't have an Oculus. Any idea why this won't run for me? Does this require 64-bit? Is it possible there will be a 32-bit version?

Yes it relies heavily on DX11 shaders and is a 64 bit application, also since you don't have an oculus it wouldnt really be feasible to play anyway
