Default Filmed in Supermarionation

Just in case anyone doesn't know, next weekend Picturehouse Cinemas are doing a Supermarionation weekender. On Saturday 11th you'll be able to see Filmed in Supermarionation, whilst on Sunday you'll be able to see This is Supermarionation - a collection of the original episodes in HD, along with adverts and behind the scenes films. Details here:

I went I saw, I really want to see it again, what a treasure..!

I met a few others waiting to see this documentary and had time to explore the details like the badge, poster and flyer card, nice job fellas.

I won't reveal any of the contents of the program but most of it I had not seen anywhere else.

A group of us watched the restored hd programmes at Greenwich Picture House today. The general feeling was disappointment. The best of the batch was Thunderbirds, Stingray and Joe 90 were very dark and muddy. Scarlet was rich in colour and had major impact but the colour balance appeared to be out of synch.
The black and white episodes were good but again dark.
The film broke down near the end of Scarlet so we missed a glimpsed section of documentary.
Maybe it was that particular picture house, be interested to hear other comments.

I didn't see the "HD" episodes but the Filmed in documentary was brilliant so that's a real shame Graham.

I hope this is a coincidence but the documentary froze twice during playback, luckily the atmosphere was so good and relaxed that we treated it in the typical "keep calm and keep watching" attitude so it didn't spoil the day but added a note of humour. Something else happened that I hope to be able to reveal soon so stay tuned.

Sorry about the image quality taken with my camera phone, just for posterity sakes.

It all looked great at Clapham Picturehouse. I'm surprised no one complained to Greenwich if the picture was that poor…

Not quite sure what 'colour balance out of sync' means...

Colours not true to the original.

Clearly there was a fault with the calibration of the equipment then.

The colours were 'true' to the original. Well, as 'true' as you can get bearing in mind the huge variation grading can produce.

The documentary was brilliant
Well done Masterspy
plus episodes
True Scarlet was really bad which as you say was probably that particular cinema
Its not every day you are sitting there watching your fave tv programme on the silver screen.
I had looked forward to this weekend for a long time
Now awaiting my blu ray box set so I can see again & again
I pray Stingray, Scarlet, Joe & Secret Service will be released on Network in entirety

& (I will be in trouble here) XL5 & Supercar too.
But in colour

You probably saw as much with your eyes shut as we did with our eyes open. Dreadful. I'm really hoping it was a projection issue, although considering the difference in brightness between some of the "time elapse zooms" (bright) and the rest of the episode (almost pitch black), and the fact that the newly shot material looked fine, I have my doubts. We'll see when I get hold of the Blu-ray.

My boxset arrived this morning. Very heavy and impressive!

The only thing is the internal card supports aren't very strong and the weight of the book has damaged the supports.

Not had a chance to look at everything yet as I'm at work so looking forward to getting home tonight!

Just been watching the new set. Wow Thunderbirds is superb and Joe and Scarlet..cant wait to see all of them and the documentary.
Stingray is very good but has a grain unlike Thunderbirds, not sure why.
A very impressive package.
Hours of fun!

Bloody fantastic news
There are 14 episodes which were not shown at the cinema
For some reason I thought that we would be getting a disc of the five shown at the cinema
However this is better news
But would really love a disc of the five shown at the cinema as well

Supermarionation heaven
