I hope it's true but I'm not holding my breath for this or the S:2099 reboot either.

Space:1999 - Countdown to Series 2

The countdown is under way! After months of speculation, one of our most hotly-anticipated releases is set for lift-off in 2015 - Space: 1999 -

Stunningly restored in a brand-new high definition transfer from original film elements, this iconic series is set to look better than ever, and will be released in a complete series set on Blu-ray and DVD in autumn 2015

We know you can't wait that long... and neither can we. So, as a foretaste of what's in store, we're releasing two episodes ahead of schedule: providing fans with their first glimpse of the incredible restoration work that has been done on the series

Default At Long Last: Y2 On Video! (Hopefully...)

Let's hope it is - Y2 is long, long overdue for this effort - and respect. Anyone know why it's taken this long?

As to the other, well, I guess fan-fic types out there - be they film, or pen (like me) - will always have work to do!

Watched the Bringers Of Wonder last night on Blu-ray - seems to be up to the standard of the series 1 Blu-ray (although I'm no expert by any means) nice crisp detail and colours, minimum of grain. Never a big fan of the episode tho; how come the aliens didn't figure the imposter in their ranks was Maya - the only one who could change into one of them!? :p

You're right, it doesn't make sense.
By the way, I just received the Blu-ray today and was very happy at the video quality. The only deception for me is the soundtrack. It is flat mono and the mix is poor. We hardly can enjoy the music soundtrack on part 1 of the episode. Part 2 is a little better but still mono sound. I thought it took 5-6 years for Network to get this season 2 in Blu-ray because they were suppose to work hard to have a surround mix with clean audio elements , just like they did for the season1 set! What happened, Network? Will you revisit this episode for a better soundtrack in time for the fall 2015 launch?

Really pleased with the Bringers of Wonder blu-ray just received and looking forward to the forthcoming full blu-ray release of season 2. Nice sleeve artwork too with the big colour monster picture on the inner sleeve.

Surprised to notice that in the included trailer for Destination Monnbase Alpha that illusion and reality are mentioned in the voice over but that there are absolutely no visual images given of the monsters at all.

Default Year 2 Blu-Ray HD ScreenGrabs

Here is an album of Screengrabs that my good friend of mine put up on his Space 1999 FB group. This will give people an idea of the quality. Plus it's really cool to see some new eagle scenes in HD.

Default For Your Information...

"Profile Unavailable" text appears, when this link is attempted. Hope it will resolve itself, in due course; looking forward to seeing the pictures! (Anyone out there having better luck?)

Hope you're enjoying your holiday!

Default That's Better!

Thanks so much, for the look-see. Isn't the detail, the clarity, just amazing? Yes!

Really, really like those!
Still thinking about buying a blu ray player.
Want to wait until the price goes down.
blu ray DVD's have excellent quality, but, IMHO they're still rather pricey as compared to regular DVD's.
I do have Space:1999 on VHS and also on DVD.

Yes. You definitely need to purchase a blu-ray player. The quality is excellent as in "it looks like they shoot it yesterday!"

Well, if nothing else... "Autumn 2015"... at least we know they're still on schedule. Slightly reassuring. :-)
