Very sad news. I first came across Rod Taylor one Saturday evening on BBC1 in the very early 70's when they showed the 'Time Machine' in the days when there were no celebrity shows hogging the channels.
I'll always remember him as the time traveller in one of my favourite films and perhaps just perhaps he is travelling somewhere exciting in his machine with Weena.
Thank you Rod for entertaining me for so many years, you will be greatly missed.

Default Seconded.....

.....I'm with you Malcolm - that's when I first saw him as well. Those Morlocks were scary! Also a great performance in "The Birds" as well.

Kindest regards

Patrick

I remember coming in from playing out in the snow one Christmas - I must have been around 9 or 10. I took off my boots and warmed my feet by the fire as 'The Time Machine' began on the TV. I remember thinking - 'Oh great - it's that film!'
Thanks for making that Christmas so memorable and special, Rod.

That is sad. The Time Machine is one of my fav films. Have the DVD and the soundtrack, fantastic stuff.

Was surprised when I noticed him in a cameo in the film Inglorious Basterds recently (playing Winston Churchill).

I agree wih all the above comments.
"The Time Machine" is my all time favourite SF film.
Like Howard i have a similar childhood memory of watching it one snowy winters evening and every time i see it now it reminds me of that time.
R.I.P. Rod, you leave a great legacy.
