Default Revell Liberator Kit

Probably never going to happen, but stranger things have happened.

There is a place where you can vote and show your interest in potential kits for Revell to produce in the future.

The liberator is among the candidates.

Your vote may be the one that tips the balance.

Wouldn't that be nice if it happened? It's got my vote!

I have voted, of course. And it's not as if you can only vote for one either. You can vote for as many as you would like produced.

(And I have even heard that provided you use a different computer, you can vote for the same one again!) [Not that I condone vote rigging, but we have to give the SF contingent a fair chance, right!]

These Revell Ideas pages have been up for over a year and Revell themselves have stated that they are nothing more than a bit of fun, they won't make any real decisions from this as its been obviously gamed by the Russians and other special interest groups.

Not sure there's much evidence for that. Ok it's possible but don't forget Russia's a big country and there's probably a lot of modellers there. There seems to be loads of model companies too.

Plus there was loads of votes for the Space 1999 eagles and 2001 stuff which I think was probably genuine. I'll vote for the Liberator [ and so should everyone else ] but I doubt a company like Revell would do it.

It's a shame Comet Miniatures hadn't done a better kit instead of that unecessarily fiddly thing which was too small and had an annoying surface texture. They didn't even mould the sphere in clear polystyrene until they did the ABS version.

I voted, but noticed that there are less than 500 for the Liberator and thousands for some other sci-fi ships like those from the Alien franchise, so I don't hold out much hope sadly. I don't think B7 crossed over into the US on a big scale so it wont get the votes. I think the US vote is restricted to those like Ham Salad - great guy - but probably pretty rare on the US voting contingent - I mean on the grand scale of things.
