Default 1/48 Eagle - now don't get too excited!

But take a look at this -

http://culttvman.com/main/round-2-news-for-april-2015/

it's likely it's about the kit from the 70s and someone's got their wires crossed so don't get your hopes up - but it's worth a look.

If true, I'd be in for at least a half dozen.

Well I wouldn't put it past Round 2.
Jamie hinted that there would be a really exciting large scale release at some point for 2016.
Let's wait until Wonderfest when Jamie said he would reveal all?
Nice to see the 1/100th Excelsior back - and about time too!
That's been a long time coming...

Did you also know that Round 2 is also reissuing the 1/1000 scale TOS U.S.S.
Enterprise and the D-7 Klingon Battle Cruiser kits this year?I had just sent
a message to Round 2 when I heard about it,and told them not to make chrome plated parts for the D-7 Klingon Battle Cruiser this time because
I find that working with chrome plated parts in a model kit like that has become a great big pain in the rump!!

There's 1 or 2 people on Starshipmodeller saying it could be resin. I don't know about you chaps but if that is the case then I think that would be a complete waste of time and just not big news.

I'm sure I speak for most people when I say we want a new all styrene kit. There's been loads of bloody resin Eagles.

Doubt it would be resin for $120?
James E. Small does a lot of work for Round 2 (he designed the C-57 Saucer kit) and worked in tandem with them on the large 1/350th Enterprise kit.
Wouldn't be surprised if he was in on this project at some point as he has hinted that he has access to one of the original 22" models?
Jamie mentioned he was awaiting mock-ups before he committed to an announcement. Wonderfest is only a few weeks away, should get something then?

I did know the old Polar Lights 1/1000th TOS Enterprise and Klingon Cruiser were being re-issued - actually I think it's now out?. The Enterprise is a hound of a kit, your better off with the Revell Kit for the price. It's only saving grace is the stand and the decal sheet.
Same go's for the Klingon Cruiser, the older AMT kit is a better kit, so is the Revell one (although this one, along with the Revell Enterprise are based on the Newer miniatures built for the DS9 episode 'Trials and Tribbulations').

Sounds potentially very interesting.

All I just did was just told Round 2 was to not include chrome painted or
plated parts for the 1/1000 scale D-7 Klingon Battle Cruiser kit, because
working with chrome plated parts for that kit is a big pain in the rump!

Chromed sprues get paint stripped with Mr Muscle oven cleaner and then re-sprayed with appropriate Alcad colours. For example just before Xmas I built a non-Sci Fi model that came with 3 chrome and 1 gold sprue:

These got converted into something much more interesting with Alcad paints

Nice little engine there. I'd like to see the engine bells done in chrome though as the studio models had fairly bright chrome engine bells.
