Default 1/144 Fireball XL5

Hey Guys,

I ran a few quick searches in the forum for this Fireball XL5 model http://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart...el-kit-p-16524 ... but nothing came back so I thought I'd ask if anybody here knows more & can clue me in about it.

Cheers

Sorry folks - that really was a bit vague wasn't it! Here's more ...

I know the kit is some years old now but I've not found a review of it & just wondering if anyone here has seen it up close or even made one?

Apart from the usual scale silliness (a 1/144th XL5 should be ~ 2' long) it looks like it could be reasonably accurate but the photos are just too small to judge really.

Is it a MIM original or a recast like their Stingray? (which was a resin recast of the Wave vinyl model).

Wasn't the Comet kit to 1/144 scale too?

I just recently got the resin Fireball XL5 from them, but have got a couple of other projects ahead of it so I've not started it yet. Only briefly glanced at it over the holidays, when it first got here, and think it's decent. I've got an old Comet Miniatures model, as well, but don't know if it's recast from that or not. They appear to be close in size, although I've not had a chance to really closely compare them side-by-side. (And my Comet kit doesn't have the launch rail display base, obviously. )

Didn't know about Monsters In Motion's Stingray...looks like they've discontinued that one.
