Default 44 inch eagle help please

Hello All
I have acquired a complete ab 44 inch eagle in need of a few repairs and in a few pieces.
The thing I need help with is the legs, they slide in but how are they fixed in?

What part of the leg; the entire leg pod?
Where did you get that from?

Sorry no pics of it yet.
I think I may have worked it out
Where the legs slide in there is no top guide only the bottom one so that is why they are not locking in.

I rescued this one from someone's cellar, it had sat around in pieces for years.

Yeah, if making to studio you will have an angle on each corner where the legs slide in. In fact you hardly see these. Some other method would look very similar if you work it out.
Is it brass? I have just finished my brass work and soldering of. Need to start cleaning up and so on; a serious bit of work, if only I had some cellars to hunt around. Lucky you; good luck with it.

I forgot to say
Top cage is brass , not sure about all the other cage.
Feet are metal spring loaded.
Bells are aluminium

its a old kit by the looks of it, sorry for my ignorance i am not a model builder.
its been well weathered in its time.

A&b models 44 inch eagle circa 2001. Spine is brass all cages are heavy white metal along with solid landing shoulder pods. Weighs tonne your model looks decent
