Default BIG scale Thunderbird 2 LAUNCH PAD Display Electronic

This 1/144 scale launch ramp / pad with electronic Thunderbirds sounds and electronic activated moving ramp is pretty cool. Can display ANY big Thunderbird 2, although it is intended for the DeAgostini 1/144 scale TB2.

Available from HOBBYLINK JAPAN Store online, at the moment due for release around September 2017. May be able to get it from DeAgostini and other stores as well I guess. Not bad price tag for such a big beast of a display.

There is also an acrylic display cover for this, however that will be sold separately, EXTRA price and optional.

DeAgostini has the Acrylic Display cover (OPTIONAL) for sale to subscribers in Japan. Maybe Hobbylink Japan who sell the TB2 base display will sell the acrylic display cover also later. We will see.

Oh FFS - yeah thanks cratercritter!

I'm trying to resist but even at the ridiculous price of over 200 quid (probably waaaay more, considering that there's just no way a package that big/expensive could slip through customs unnoticed ) I am actually wondering if I can possibly get this by Mrs telster.

I have a couple of Takaras & 1 Imai in 1/144th so y'know - maybe it's like an investment

or maybe ... What, that old thing - I've had it for ages!

or possibly even ... Yes - that's my best scratchbuild yet!

Naaah - me neither!

You are welcome. It looks like the advertising says it is an assembly kit version. May need some assembly , hence the packaging might be more compact.
Also, can buy it without the acrylic display cover.....Can have the cover made later within your country instead of buying / importing theirs.

You do realize that you're making it worse, don't you :-) ?

Even having forgotten that the acrylic cover was extra - I'm still up for it!

Perhaps if I sell something ...

Don't need an acrylic cover if you have a sealed display cabinet to display it, keep the dust out. Could be why they are selling them separately....some people may find that the "dust cover" is not needed.

Looks like this TB2 launch pad was removed from the websites. No longer there at the moment.

Just watched the video - is that what the DeAgostini TB2 looks like? It looks terrible - awful panel lines and a centreline joint that looks more like a crevasse!

The TB2 looks like a big toy, because I guess it is a toy / model. I think it is way too expensive.... not getting the TB2, although the Launch Pad would be cool for one of my TB2 models.
A keen model maker can enhance the Launch Pad to look heaps better, rather than so bland. Appears as though the Launch Pad is a no-goer now.
