Gerrys shows were completely unique, no one has done anything like them, timeless.
He was one of those rare people whose name means the things he produced, like Walt Disney, Andrew Lloyd Webber and others, legendary.
Cant believe it, thank you for bringing so much joy and inspiration

When I look back, I cannot believe the influence Gerry Anderson has had upon my life. Funnily enough, I was in the attic at my parents on Xmas eve, and there it was : a cardboard box containg all the toys. The Dinky Thunderbird 2 from Xmas 1969. The Spectrum SPV and MSV. The Eagle Freighter, and Ed Straker's car. My parents have a picture of me, age 4, sitting on a huge lump of wood with a crudely - carved end, a cruder contol handle nailed upon it, and "TB1" painted upon it. Laughable? Probably, but that was all I needed to dream I was Scott Tracy. I used to read the words "Gerry Anderson" and think what a very special job it must be to make such wonderful TV programmes. I can even remember suddenly understanding the concept of the number "12" as my mum taught me to read, using the "UFO" strip in "Countdown".

And now, I'll never get to meet him.

RIP, Gerry.
