Default early Eagle concept

Speaking of Catacombs... there is a small image of a Chris Foss painting of an early Eagle design on the Catacombs website. The image is quite stunning and the design might make an interesting scratch-build -- but the image is too small to be useful. I've been trying to find a larger version of it online, but my various searches have come up with nothing.

Does anyone know of where I could find this image in a larger form?

Yes...being a Chris Foss fan myself I would also love to get a larger image of that particular promo painting.

As a matter of fact Chris has a painting showing another Eagle "distant cousin"....impressive, isn't it?

Now that would be a scratch-build. What do you think it's delivering? Eagle Gift sets?

Ace, perhaps I could make a color photocopy from that Starlog issue & mail it to you. I'm sure JD's scan would be just as, if not more, useful, but until he gets his dc/pc issue resolved, maybe the photocopy will help.

Thanks “Sir” Willey! …and yes, JD is right…the girder-work on the leg pods looks quite intricate… interesting concept.
Nice topic Ace!
Cheers

It looks like there's a hint of rocket exhaust coming out the back, but the figure in the foreground is conveniently hiding the engine detail. It also looks like there is no detachable pod on this design. And I hate to say that I'm not really seeing the girder work on the leg pods at this resolution. What am I missing? Or are you talkijng about the shading on the bottom of the leg pods? It looks to me like maybe that's paneling detail. Maybe. I can't really tell.

CR -- missed your post until just now. I color photocopy or even just a scan of it would be great, but I'm in no hurry. Thanks!

Thanks JD and Martin, too for the earlier post. Now I see what you're talking about with the girders....

That scan looks great! Good work!
It turned out way better than a color photocopy would have... AceMartini, do you still want the copy, or will that scan suffice?

That scan is fine, I think. Until someone finds the original painting.... Any guesses as to how big that thing is?

So what's the deal with that ship? Only three landing gears are down, and it's got a VHF antenna sticking out the front. And the astronaut in the forground is holding a serpent of some kind.

Oh, I so want to make some sort of juvenile comment about what the astronaut is holding (how many eyes does that serpent have?), but I'll restrain myself a little bit.
Oh, wait, too late...
