Just ordered me Series 1 on DVD - it's been a long time since I've seen it.

This may be more info than you are interested in, but it does cover the bases fairly thoroughly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blake's_7

Make sure you get the < 's_7 >in with the name, or just copy and paste the entire thing, or it takes you to the wrong entry

And I'm one of those cult followers...

Got all the DVDs

All the CDs

All the Books

The Comet Liberator which I built a loooonnnggg time ago...(in the days before digital cameras)

The much bigger Titan Find Liberator which is in the throes of construction as we speak (this is one of the publicity photos from their site)

Looking forward to getting that particular model completed, followed by the Federation pursuit ship which is their next release, and the System's pursuit ship which is modelled after one weapon pod from Liberator.

I even drew the Liberator during my schooldays...and subsequently showed it to Mat Irvine at a convention where he signed it for me...

I mentioned to Mrs Eagle tonight that I bought the Series 1 DVD set.

Her reply was predictable...

"You're not gonna start buying the models as well now, are you?"

Excellent show! Our local PBS channel ran this series for some time.
Had the chance to record it. Periodic viewings happen here at home.
Sadly they never finished showing the entire run. I think only 2
seasons were shown. Wasn't there more than that?

Future DVD buyer here!

There were 4 seasons in all I believe (quickly checking DVD sets to confirm)...yes that's right.

I had the season one DVD set and watched it about two years ago, although I never got around to getting hold of season's two to four yet, which something that I really need to rectify.

The brief was for something Enterprisey without being the Enterprise. A great many people were surprised to find it flew in the opposite direction to the one they thought it would.

Blake's 7 never played in my area of the US when I was growing up. I think I have seen maybe 5 min of one unknown episode. Have they released the DVD's in the US? I checked the WhoNA site and a few others and cant seem to find them.

yes, it can be tacky and cheap.

However, it makes up for it in engaging characters and of course, Kerr Avon's iconic wit and sarcasm. Excellent stuff. comes highly recommended. I personally have all the DVDs and books, although I will not win any friends admitting this, but in terms of sets, I actually prefer the 'bridge' of the MarkIII Wanderer Class Planet-hopper 'Scorpio' than I do Liberator...

hehe wound you all up now!

Although some of the Federation ships (the ones with the mutoids in) are well dodgy! But who cares. This show just draws you in, cause it's totally fun. Although it DID start very serious- remember the first episode, anyone???
