Default Hawk to be released by Product Enterprise!

*
After visiting Memorabilia today I had a brief chat with Steve, CEO of PE.

A Studio Scale (alledgedly in-scale with the 23" Studio Scale Eagle) Hawk is to be released later in 2007.

The bad news: there will be NO 12" scale die-cast of the Hawk.

There is also to be a 'larger' sized SHADO Mobile - unsure of scale - probably between 10-14".

Other Studio Scale models and prototypes on display were as follows and of course need no introduction...

(Sorry about the naff pics. )

Note: Shane Ritchie behind TB2 - ordering a Studio Scale Eagle!

Shane was visibly 'gob-smacked' when he saw the Eagle and decided to buy one straight away.

Well, you would, wouldn't you?

Oooooh, pretty. So, this is to join the 23" Transporter and Rescue Eagles? I can live with that. If I start saving my pennies now, I'll need till the end of 2007!

Okay Hawk experts, so how does this live up to the 'real' thing? Let the dissection begin!

Thudebird 2's cockpit window is now properly faired in, no ugly join line around it.

Hi DOC

Were you there today?

What about the THUNDERBIRD decal, has that been reduced now too?

Hi EAGLE,

Couldn't get to it, either day, too much real life going on!

Yes, the Thunderbird decal on the nose of TB2 has been reduced in size, and the typeface is more accurate (to at least some of the miniatures!).

I hope Steve was pleased to see you!

My wallet just bit me!

So much for saving any money this year. I just found a home for my Eagle, now where will the Hawk and Moblie go?

I like these kinds of problems.

TB2 and the Hawk are sold for me. TB2 is good enough now.

Not sure about the Mobile - I'll probably pass on that (too small).

Hate to put a dampener on things but what a waste of time!

There's already been resin studio sized Hawks and Shado Mobiles - what's the big deal about any more? I have to be honest - I'm not that fussed about the Hawk but if 12 inch diecast ones were released I would have definitely bought a few of them. I won't be buying these resin ones though.

PE are obviously going down the "let's make things on the cheap and sell them at extortionate prices" route.

Due to the timeliness(4/1) and nature(we have all wanted this for so long) of post, I'll question it's validity.
As much as I want a SS Hawk. If they are coming out, I'll take 2-3.

I can assure you it's no April Fool's - I'm relating what Steve told me and what I saw with my own two eyes...

thanks for the pics boss and no offense meant at all,
but i hope the stun gun and commlock are just shown
in bad light and look better in person.

as for the hawk, i dont know what the thinking was
by not making a 12" version? i would think that more
of the small scale would be sold for obvious reasons?
im sure i will save up for a large version, but a LOT of
people just wont be able to afford one at all or may not
have the space for it!

TB2 looks bad again, does it look better in real life?

As for the Hawk, its hard to copy such a kit part heavy model at smaller scale but the most important bit, the cockpit section, doesn't look good to me.

Mm. The weathering on TB2 is letting it down IMHO - looks like it has stripes.
The CM of the Hawk looks too narrow - squashed, as if it's been put in a vice.
Still - I guess these are still prototypes...???

Hmm, I thought that too.

Let's hope there's some tweaking planned yet.

Oops, didn't confirm that. Don't quote me but I think Steve said 399.

Of course, the prices came down rapidly on the Eagle RRP.

Ditto.

Sorry for the downer but TB3 engines are wrong too. Can't see me buying any of them.
