Default Space: 1999 DVD promo

Don't know if anyone has talked about this, but here's a nice little video:

Both great...the first one had me for 1/2 a minute (tragic I know) but the second one was superb "No shit Sherlock"

Both of them brilliant. Very interesting how music or laughing completely change the mood of the scenes.

For what it's worth, Space:1899 is also on the Fanderson DVD Documentory of S99 and UFO.

I think the laugh track was a great idea... I could actually watch Season 2 that way!

All it needed was a beanie, and it would have been out of Filmation's 1975 live-action comedy series The Ghost Busters, starring Larry Storch & Forrest Tucker. Only not as funny nor as clever as that!

Very funny. Love the spoof title sequence for series two showing every terrible monster and reaction shot (especially Koenig giving a doubletake to the tree he has just bumped into) and the chlorine breathing creature doing a little shimmy in time to the music in the Japanese sequence.

Space 1899 terribly well done but I had seen this advertised on the DVDs and had hoped for so much more! Potted palms, pitch pine and wickerwork, leg of mutton sleeves, bombazine space suits, main mission a la Rennie Mackintosh...

Loved Space:1899 but it used Space Warp and showed that scene where Maya is begging to be put in restraints...

*temporary interruption while Jamie has a bag of ice applied to various parts*

"No s**t Sherlock!" has now entered my vocabulary :-)

Default New 1999 DVD

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but came across clips from a new DVD set of Space 1999 on utube. A lot of stuff I'd never seen before, such as alternative titles and unseen effects shots.

Yep, it's been posted before, but that's alright. Never hurts to it up again. We have lots of newbies.

Default Some Youtube Silliness

Well, scouring Youtube I came across the fan done parodies "The Igyan Edition" of Space 1999 and "Space 1899" apparently posted by the original people that did them for conventions (as such, they wouldn't be pirated copies, such as what Youtube is known for). So, for those of us that don't have access to the Fanderson disks (such as yanks with region 1 only DVD players, like me), here they are.

Man, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

I do love these. The laughing track for that hokey ep is wonderful, as are Japanese credits and the alternate ending to breakaway. Maya's reaction to reading the script for the Rules of Luton is priceless.. as is the "no shit sherlock" ... I needed that.
