Fanderson put together a very nice comprehensive 2nd series 2-CD set, but have since sold out within the past year or so. These occasionally pop up on ebay, and usually goes for significantly less than the 1st series version (200 USD for a used 2-CD Fanderson series one set just within the week ). There is the persistent rumor that Silva Screen will be putting out a one CD 2nd series CD at some point (as they did for series 1), but when is always a matter for serious conjecture.

I didn't realise that they had sold out of the 2nd season, I thought everyone said it wasn't selling! Guess it did.
Actually there was a 2nd season disc released around 10 years ago with the music from Metamorph, Exiles, One Moment of Humanity and Space Warp. It was suppose to just be for the composers promotional purpose and said 'Public sale strictly prohibited' in small writing on the back....I didn't notice that bit when I bought it in the shop!

I have the Derek Wadsworth release also. It's okay, but IMO the quality of the sound is better on the Fanderson release.

Oh, there is the very nice melody here and there, you just have to hold in your cringes and wait for it to pop up!

A challenge, eh? Okay, If I have time tomorrow I'll get out my Fanderson set and see. But if my cats end up driven batty from that sax, it's your fault!

Okaaayy... DX mentions 70's porn music, and then cricket mentions something popping up.

Yes, I'm twisted.

I figured everyone would have seen that, but I'm just feeling tactless enough tonight to point it out!

To be honest I had not noticed it before you mentioned it, well spotted, and pointed out CR, even if it was tactless.

I got the Fanderson 2CD versions of UFO and S1999 Series 2, but Series 1 had not long sold out ... i tried to get one on ebay and landed one for £42 - turned out to be a bootleg with no artwork or nothing, just 2 CD's - not even a label. That was a poxy day i can tell you.

Oh the mad sax, I'd forgotton all about that. Whoever was performing that one was really "out there".

There's a silly comedy on in the UK at the moment called "The Boosh". Just a lot of surreal whimsy really but one of the running jokes is a character called "The Spirit of Jazz". He "takes over" performers and they head off on extended, solo, freeform "journeys of discovery". That is what it reminds me of.

And the other best/worst S2 soundtrack moment; the tune that echoes "money talks, but it don't sing and dance and it don't walk..." Doeas anyone know the bit that I mean. Usually at the end of episdoes. Something icky has just happened (or is happening), Maya is smiling at Tony, Koenig and Helen are moving into shot for the freeze frame. Could be any of about half of the S2 episodes.
