The sound of silence.
I remember as a kid the guy putting his hand on the dog and turning it palm up to reveal blood. That image has stayed with me.
Also, the UFO emerging from the lake and exchanging fire with the mobiles is one of the best effects sequences I've ever seen on TV.

Reflections in the water.
Lotsa action, loadsa hardware!

Ordeal.
Although the interior of the UFO was a disappointment, I remember thinking, 'At last, we're going to see the alien's planet!' I love the direction, and the reveal at the end with Foster coughing.

Sub-smash. I'm a sucker for sub movies, and when you add UFO's, .

Too hard to pick really. I love the idea of the Square Triangle and the dilemma about stopping a murder by interfering with the crime or stopping many murders by staying out of it.

I also like Sub Smash, A matter of Priorities, Time Lash, and the Sound of Silence, but in truth I really like them all.

I am like Tony42, for me its too hard to pick just one episode from the series, as I like them all, granted some not quite a smuch as others though. My least favorite would have to be The Long Sleep, mainly because of the 1960s flower power and physcodelic (sp) feel to parts of it, to me it just did not fit with the supposed look and feel of the 1970s and 80s as portayed in UFO, other than that its not a bad episode.

i also liked the skydiver scenes in psycobomb.

Definatley a tough one, in no particular order.

- Sounds of Silence

-Dalotek Affair

-The Square Triangle

-ESP

The firefight between the Mobiles and the UFO in ...Silence is still a pretty amazing piece of Fx and the epsisode still managed to retain; tension and a general air pf creepiness. Also, ESP as a young teenager haunted me for weeks.

The worst: Timelash, Long Sleep and Mindbender all showed the series running out of steam.

Marty...

I liked Time lash just for the tour around the sets, and the story was fun even if not the best of them. I probably like psycho bombs the least. I think the idea of the Mysterons using human bodies was a silly turn in the series.. the main premise made much more sense.

This is the voice of the Mysterons .... Meow

ESP was a very good episode and the UFO hitting the house was extremely well done. The funny thing is, ask me on a different day and I'd probably choose a different episode to Flight Path.

Mike, if you want a young Charlie Tingwell in a recurring role, seek out the old black and white Margeret Rutherford Miss Marple films.

I would have to go for Mindbender. Still can't forget the moment when Straker's world turns into a movie from the first time I saw it.

Indeed, that was a cleverly conceived episode!

I like Mindbender; talk about "alienation effect" Eat your heart out Brecht! Makes yoir head hurt thinking about it.

Time lash is more like something out of The Avengers but no worse as a result.

I even quite like The Long Sleep. The LSD flashback sequence with the girl in Victorian/hippy clothes dancing with the figure in the space suit on the roof is very striking.

Crumbs, that surprised me!
Just goes to show we all see different things in it. These 3 episodes are my favourites because imo they have better stories and a better pace than some earlier ones. Better cast of actors too. The writers seemed to be thinking outside the box with stuff like Mindbender and The Long Sleep, and all the location filming in this latter ep makes UFO look more believable. They may have been made more cheaply with all that running around the studio but I thought the writers pulled all the stops out. I think they make stuff like Close Up and The Dalotek Affair look pale in comparison.

If I had to pick only one it'd be Mindbender for the western hallucination and the bit where the director shouts 'cut!'. Genius.
