Default does anyone remember

a 30 year old ice cream.
it came out at the same time as UFO and was called...... the UFO ice cream

what "sticks" in my memory was the plastic stick that replaced the traditional wooden one and could be linked with other sticks to form models. the TV add for the ice cream had several UFO vehicles made up from these sticks........

if anyone has pics or the original ad, i would love to see it for nostalgias sake

Wow! I have a few of those sticks somewhere... a red, an orange and a blue, if I recall correctly. One of them had cracked in half, but I glued it back together.
Great, now I have yet another thing I need to try to figure out the location of! (Now where'd I put that box of bits from my childhood? No, the other box...)

We had a collection of those sticks (four kids, lots of sticks) I remember winning a competition to build a rocket platform. One of the local kids programme hosts was the host at our local Westfield Shopping town (local at the time) and I finished it very quickly but was sent back because it was supposedly wrong (just too easy actually) I took it straight back after "fixing" it and won. I think it was a box of the things. Anyway we were happy, ate all the ice blocks and kept the sticks. They have gone the way of the Dodo now of course.

I remember the Zoom & Fab ice creams & the Tonibell Ice Cream van that used to frequent good old Luton Town when I lived there. Have'nt come across those type sticks though, in the 70's here in NSW they had a squarer type white plastic stick. I think they ended up breaking half the time leaving your ice cream/block/lolly on the floor

I have the vaguest recollection of them. I never got to play with such things as I am the youngest of a therefore was the last to get hold of anything... " don't touch, you'll break that."

I remember eating 'Dalek' lollies, which were sort of mint flavour ice cream. I also remember the competition to win a full size Dalek for 'your school'...

Not an ice block/lolly, but in a similar vein: does anyone else remember a case of cards (about 7" x 4") with instructions for making models of a moon base, various spacecraft and 'defence weapons' from household items? Pipe cleaners, egg cartons... the Brits here would describe it as 'Blue Peter-ish'.

I owned a set when I was very young, and would be delighted to see them again for nostalgia's sake.

I was a mad keen fan of UFO since it first aired in autumn 1970, whilst I got the bubble gum, Countdown comics [still have a tatty near complete run most of them] and got the toys et-al. I don't remember UFO ice lollys or any ads. Just thought if there was, I might.

I distinctly recall everything the before the Zoom and Fab lollys, the cereal premiums and all the tv ads including the ones for Countdown -- but have no recall what-so-ever of UFO tie-in ice lolly.
