Default What's your age?

As the original poll didn't make it through the black hole during the conversion, here's another!

Note: if you're about to move into the next highest group (within a year), please choose that (makes the poll more relevant for longer!)

Okay, took a little effort (thanks Eagle!), but Bugs and I are now both represented.

I just barely hit the big four-o but I still feel like one-eight for the most part.

while were on the subject of age here is an interesting e-mail sent to me
Alzheimer's Test-

Count the "F's" in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

here's another one ,highly irritating but clever.
cheers Paul

:
NO CHEATINGTest for Dementia
Below are four (4) questions and a bonus question. You have to answer them instantly. You can't take your time, answer all of them immediately. OK?

Let's find out just how clever you really are.Ready? GO!!! (scroll down)
First Question:You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in?

Answer:If you answered that you are first, then you areabsolutely wrong! If you overtake the second person and you take his place, you are second!

Try not to screw up in the next question.
To answer the second question, don't take as much time as you took for the first question.

Second Question:If you overtake the last person, then you are...?

Answer: If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again. Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST Person? You're not very good at this! Are you?Third Question:Very tricky math! Note: This must be done in your head only.Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it.

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000. Now add 30. Add another 1000. Now add 20. Now add another 1000
Now add 10. What is the total?

Scroll down for answer.Did you get5000?The correct answer is actually 4100.Don't believe it? Check with your calculator! Today is definitely not your day. Maybe you will get the last question right?

Fourth Question:
Mary's father has five daughters: 1. Nana, 2. Nene, 3. Nini, 4. Nono.
What is the name of the fifth daughter?

Answer: Nunu?NO! Of course not.
Her name is
Mary. Read the question again

Okay, now the bonus round:There is a mute person who wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing one's teeth he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done.

Now if there is a blind man who wishes to buy a pair of sunglasses, how should he express himself?

Answer: He just has to open his mouth and ask, so simple.

Paul, its simple... all you have to do is think in Russian. The guns won't fire if you think in english... at least that's my problem

BTW I never do those tests because I can never remember the beginning of the questions when I get to ......???????? 14 wasn't it????

There are three things that fail you when you get old, your hearing, your eye sight, and your... oh crap I've forgotten the other one

I did actually get 4 'F's on the first challenge. The others I completely F'd up !
Does that mean I have or haven't got Alzheimers ? Or is there a blindingly logical answer to that question as well ?

I only got three of the F's, I guess I am just a normal idiot.

Looks like most of us fall in the forty to forty four range on the age chart. Maybe we should start a forum prescription program.

That's interesting and rather good for the future of things. A feather in Gerry and Syliva's caps

I see I'm nestled in with a lot of others who discovered/grew up with Space: 1999 before it went into syndication!

Well, in the US, S99 was always syndicated; no major network wanted to touch it after the disastrous Star Trek. (I presume CelticNut means before S99 went into re-run syndication.)
For a show which never enjoyed major network backing, it sure was popular. I mean, it speaks volumes that to this day people recognise the Eagle, or darthwalls' spacesuit replica at a convention! So to the networks!

73% of the respondents are within just a few years of my age. Wow. More than I would have thought. Suddenly I don't feel quite so old.
