Default Collection update

Well Guys,

I had re-started collecting Space 1999 and UFO stuff some weeks ago.
Well here is my actual status:

The next things to come in are a Prop Eagle Transporter and a Prop Rescue Eagle.

What do you think?
Cheers,
Oliver

Default To be honest....

...I really don´t like Orion.
I hate that flat-iron they used..... :-)
No, UFO was my first SF series I saw on TV, here in Germany, back in 1973.
I was amazed by the technics and at that point Star Trek was really a bad joke for me as there weren´t any great technical devices in the orignal series.
UFO was my all-time favourite. Space 1999 ran here in Germany for the first time I think in 1978 and I didn´t like it that much back then but now, I really love it so that I decided to collect them both.

Oliver

Hi Oliver/Senmen,

nice collection already "after some weeks" collecting.

I don't remember UFO here in germany at all. Space 1999 was one of the first I really remember, after Star Trek and a series where women where in controll and men where like slaves. Can't remember the name

Keep going - keep us updated

Default New Collector.

Hi, New to the fray also.

Nice collection, I will be getting some of the Konami miniatures..they look really well detailed. I have a contact in Japan so will try to get them cheaper. If I suceed I will let you all know.

My collection started today. Must be a mid life crisis or something because one minute I was sitting at my desk working, the next I was surfing ebay with serious intent.

Without much thought. I found and bought an PE 23" Eagle.. Brand New 200...Thought it a bargain ...hope it is.

Does anyone manufacture any after market upgrades such as aluminium rocket booster cones ( things at the back and underneath pod ) or in fact anything else ( thrusters etc )

I am a modeller and once I get the eagle, will probably look to extensively upgrade the detail on the walkway exteriors as a minimum.

I am sort of hoping that the model is not too bad in terms of accuracy but having read some comments ref the PE Thunderbird 2, I am prepared to re-model.

Any views you chaps have would be appreciated.

Wish me luck:

Default To all..... (more)

At first many thanks to all of you for the comments.
@ Forza: welcome to this place. I also joined a few weeks ago and I really
love the place.
@ Oliver: well UFO first ran here in Germany in 1973. I remember this very
well (born 1964) as this was the only day (it ran every tuesday on the first channel at 2100hrs) I needed not to get to bed that early.

Default @ Forza again... (more)

I think 200 for a Prop Eagle is a good price.
PE/Iconic is offering the Prop Eagle at the moment for 199,90 - the last few are in stock.
All the new ones are offered for 399,90 as was the original price for the first prop Eagle.
I will get a Prop Eagle transporter and a Prop Rescue Eagle soon.
Will keep you updated....

@all: the collection grows, but it is a rather expensive thing...
But what shall I say; I think you all know.....

Forza welcome as cricket said. The PE 23" has its problems, but compared to the TB2 its utter genius. You can have lots of fun with it as there are things to work with re modelling, and yes there are lots of aftermarket bells and things you can buy to make it sweet. 200 is a great price, the best we've seen being 195. I can't stop to find all the threads for you, but there are some in this one "The Hanger" and others in "The Launch Pad" So either do a search or go for a lazy stroll through these and you'll find some great info.

Others hopefully will provide some direct links. (I'll do some hunting for you later) You can also visit the Catacombs for some great heads up on details (well everything really) to do with eagles and so forth

http://www.space1999.net/~catacombs/index.html

AND Oliver the collection ROCKS!!!!

Hit it for six, Cricket. An Anglo-German production with Alien City designs by Keith Wilson, so it has a very Space:1999 look to it.

Default Thanks for Welcome.

Great to be part of this community.

Tony42, Will be checking out the catacombs and Steve D will definatly be in contact once model turns up.

I have just tried to go to www.space1999eagle.com. I remember from years ago that this site had the most incredible art work, but it seems impossible to get into as there is not a new member gateway!!!!!

Any ideas..or contacts?

That site has been down for about a year now. At one point, a board member had a lead on prints of their incredible Eagle images, but last I recall, that effort had come to a dead end.

Addendum... make that almost two years!

Default Time Flies

Wow...2 years

Such a shame. I had a lot of their work on an old PC which died...images lost forever.

Incredible work though. Salut to those guys!

Jorge. Thanks again. I have just visited the site and been blown away by the detailed work these guys produced. Outstanding.

Will be drawing heavily on this to re-work my PE Eagle
