Default Blake's 7 Pursuit Ship

Well, after all that palavar with Royal Mail, finally got the package.
Inside is the Federation Pursuit Ship from Blakes 7, produced by Titan Find, mastered by Alfred Wong and decals by J T Graphics.
I knew it wasn't studio scale and that it'd be 12 inches long but feared it might be a bit puny looking but its a respectable size.
Nice bit of casting, detail is crisp but there is some clean-up to be done.
No airholes or stepping problems, just the pouring lugs at the rear of the main wings need sawing off, there's an amount of that paper-like flashing and a bit of problem with a mis-cast on the main wing sides.
All easily to deal with though.
Part fit is excellent, with the main wings slotting into the body very tightly and staying there so well its a job to remove them.
The upper and lower fins have nice locating grooves to aid in positioning.
The decals look nice and comprehensive.
If i've one gripe - and its a very small one - its that the instuction sheets photos are too small to tell what's what. Much better to go on the Titan Find site and print them out there.
Recommended.

I have one of these too, and am in the painting stage right now. However my reference was limited to a few pics made available online.

Imagine my joy when I went to the IPMS show in November and displaying there was Mat Irvine with, among other models, the Liberator (remains) as well as the Pursuit ship models.

As an aid to other builders out there, I have made my detail photos available for personal use, and you can download them from here in their original full resolution:

Pursuit Ship

I hope they are of some use to you guys...

Cheers

There are some Airfix 1/24th scale Harrier thrust deflectors on there too.

Blimey, forgot all about this thread.
Will post pics of my finished one later.
Jade, Titan Find say the ship is "currently unavailable". Dunno what's hapening there - last i heard the guy had gone pretty much bust, but he's got an update dated last month saying his Scorpio will be ready soon.

On the leading edge of the wings (around the Airfix/Ertl Eagle pod landing legs section, and on the underside of the wings close to the fuselage), there are what appears to be some kind of 'framework'. Does anybody know what this kit part is?

And does anyone know what the odd-shaped scanner is from?

I'm only these parts away from completing (up to painting) a studio scale version.

Detailed with leftover kits from 1999 no doubt or at least using the same ones.

Here's my kit built up, with crappy lighting as the light is crappy today and being held for the pic as it doesn't come with a stand and i haven't got round to making one yet, so it sort of sits lop-sided on the shelf.
Anyway, its a lovely bit of work and a lot of fun spotting the above kitbits reduced right down in scale.

Well, that's bad - but at least there's a chance he'll spring back. Hope so, he's a real nice guy selling decent kits.

Okay, what sort of price were they then. Some of these types of models are reasonable, some a bit OTT. The pursuit ship is a simple, but nice design.

For those who are interested other kits used on the pursuit ship include the Airfix 1/72 Douglas Skyray and the Airfix 1/72 German E boat.
The large cylinder on the side of the nose cone is half an E boat torpedo with the fin section cut off.

You're welcome JD. I'm not sure but I suspect the cylinders on the end of the wings may be the bodies of some type of marker pen but the thing that really foxes me is a piece on the rear of the nose cone. It looks like the cross section of an aircraft wing and you can see it in the first parts picture clanger68 posted. It might be from some sort of carrier based plane which has folding wings with the piece being a cap plate.

Hi

This is John from Titan Find. I was catching up on the thread and wanted to give an update. I was very close to going under after some bad business dealings but someone must be watching over me.

Anyway I am working on getting the Scorpio and a B7 Base/logo out. Unfortunately that meant that the Federation Pursuit ship had to be retired. However I did get the masters for that back too so there is always the possibility of a future re-release. For that to happen I would need some definite interest as new molds needs to be made and I would need to cover the cost of that.

Spread the word and if you have friends that are interested let them know. I can get a list going and see if it would be feasible.

Best

hi John.

Glad to hear you are not out of things, as I was absolutely gutshot to hear about the trouble just after having put my name down for one of the Scorpio's. I was also interested in the Pursuit ship and would certainly be up for one if you get enough interest - no matter what else I have to sell to pay for it.

(I hear Kidneys are going for 1.1 Million at the moment! )

Hope to hear both kits are going well soon.
