Default galactica

First : sorry if this has been made ten times : I was not there.

Second : this would be a reprise of a death-at-birth thread from former Space.net forum, initiated, gosh I hate myself I don't remember who ??? Was it you Cap ??

Third : I LOVE GALACTICA !!!!!
The best sf serie since Space. The serie that to me is the sequel of Space. The..... ah.... how to say ????

First : isolation, permanant war games, story about humans above all, no aliens, permanant fight with madness, desire to make babies, "there must be some way outa here".....

http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=v3QrxK3WPwQ

If THAT is not thrilling what on God's Creation is ?????

Little question for my anglophone friends :
when Adama calls himself "Actual" is it an usual thing for a battle leader, or just another touch of genious from the film maker ?

Question for everyone : is Kara Thrace God ?? or I missed a step

Two weeks ago, skying in La Plagne, I dined with one of the GO, she was looking soooooooooooo much like Starbuck. But, more than that, she had the exact same smile and laughter !! I SWEAR. For one day I thought I was in love Then I start calling her Starbuck. Don't know why she was a bit upset.

I was bold enough as to ask her name, having done the hypothese that she should bare the same initials : KT. She actually DID !!!!

As the clocks all over the world are ticking, layer and layer of papers are now busy being sent from lawyer to lawyer, anyday now my divorce will be pronounced.

this is how I feel :

Allez, let's sheer up :

on sky resort at LaPlagne Club, even the day before meeting Kara, I declined the group's invitation to sky with them, I only wanted to go 3250m high, and prowl down like an eagle. Instead of saying "have a nice day", I told "Good hunt". I loooooooooove that powerful feeling.
Life is unforgotable.

Thrace is the place where Dyonisos is originated.
Kara, meaning flesh in latin, IS Dyonisos. The complement of Apollo.

Still, what about Actual ? Somebody ???

Default name

Adama calling himself "actual" is the same as the commander of a US naval ship being called for the name of the ship he commands. Ie. the commander of the USS Eisenhower when coming abourd or leaving over the 1MC you would hear "USS Eisenhower arriving" or "departing"

As georget said, Actual is the term used for the commander of a ship or taskforce (including non-naval). When someone wants to speak to Admiral Adama, they ask for Galactica Actual, and Lee is Pegasus Actual.

I'm pretty sure this term came about in the US military around Korea or Vietnam. One thing about signals in the military, you don't use names or you are giving valuable intelligence to the enemy. It would allow them to locate your senior commanders in various theatres of war, and hence the likely strength, experience and even the expected tactics of the force involved.

The word Actual was taken because the commander and the taskforce are effectively one and the same. He is the head, and the body follows.

Interesting Last Supper Image these Jorge. Very clever as it must be coming to an end very shortly. Leonardo would be impressed.

I imagine in this shot, Judas is standing in the middle and there is no messiah. Who knows.

Although I still have a great deal of affection for the original series, I still think this is one of the best Sci fi series ever produced.Series three may have had a few ropey episodes but the Adama manouvre and the NC rescue was outstanding.
Series four is going to bring,I hope, a fitting end to it. As long as they don't end up having motorcycles that fly in it!

BTW...must be a thrill to ride the "turbocycles" at warp speed with no visor on your helmet… High protein snacks all the way!
