Default Your Favourite Episode Music !

I have to guiltly confess to downloading two tracks from itunes from Barry Gray's Space 1999 album. I thought the best epsiode music was Testament of Arkadia. It summed up the atmosphere of Season 1 really well. What's your favourite peice of music ??

Personally, my favorite piece is the Season Two theme

Orchestral with an 'adventure' flair

I love the Y1 theme and was gutted when I heard some teenage girls laughing at it as it played in a Suncoast video store a few years ago. The part that set them off was the disco part.

I actually love much of the music from Y1 and Y2 so it's hard to pick a fave, but Black Sun had some really dramatic bits that give me chills (the part where Alan confronts Koenig about the rescue ship).

Yep, thanks I couldn't remember which of the planets it was. Also often used when shots of Bf 109s and other Luftwaffe planes fly around (god of war and all) A great piece and they wouldn't have had to wash the dishes for a month with all that foam... antibody goob around

Also beautifully used in The Right Stuff, along with his Saturn suite. Good music!

My favourite is Tomaso Albinoni's Adagio from the Season 1 Episode 'Dragons Domain'. Testament of Arkadia comes in a close second (minus the Hippie ending!) Eagle-1 does that music link you posted above have a track title?

Absolutely!

I remember watching the episode as a kid first time around, thinking that the music was fantastic and fitted the feel of the story perfectly. Coupled with Barbara Bain's voiceover it's a haunting soundtrack.

And from "Beta Cloud"......

Along with some other "wild garbage".

"Well, whatta ya' know......That girl's crazy about me!"

That whole exchange is even one of the best segments of dialouge from the show.

For sheer different-ness (is that a word? ), I have always enjoyed the opening sitar music to The Troubled Spirit by Jim Sullivan. Not a Barry Grey piece, but haunting and perfect for its episode.

I liked the way the sitar piece was used throughout that episode.

I liked We're all Aliens from the Metamorph and Make Me a Pretty Nose from the Exiles the best. And the Season One theme. yeah, it was disco, but I like disco and I can dance.
there is a great website that had some awesome sound effects, including MP3 of both CD's and it used to have some awesome computer trippy effects that flowed across the screen as they played. But Now, for me anyway, the effects are gone, I only see the Quicken controls, and my computer lately has had trouble with Quicken.
I wonder if the Y2 CD is still available.

I forgot to mention, that piece from Testament of Arkadia with the skeletons was awesome. I heard it at 9, and never forgot it and have hummed my own version of it for 30 years but forgot where it came from until I saw it again this past fall.

Unfortunately, no. The Fanderson 2-disc CD compilation sold out a year or two ago, and Silva has yet to put out their announced 1-CD version. You can occasionally find the Fanderson version on Ebay. There is also a Derek Wadsworth version of series 2 music that was apparently only intended for self-promotion. It also turns up on ebay once in a blue moon.
