Mike, I think I've found something. It has the exact same grill, and it's made by AMT, but it's from the year 1972. However, it is possible for cars from the near future to be made into models... Maybe it was a concept at the time.

Here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AMT-1972-CHEVY...2#ht_500wt_922

Do you think that this could be it?

Mike
I think you might find the blue Pick Up is a 1959 Chevrolet Elcamino. A clearer
shot can be seen of the pick Up. This is when the Brown lincoln continental Station Wagon toots its horn.

thanks Air Terrainean. i'll try that. i made the silly mistake of searching 1959 Chevrolet Elcamino & came up with nothing but large expensive & beautiful models.

i prefer small konami sized models.... apart from my dalek.. opps. i slipped.

cheers

Actually - I'm not sure how right the Matchbox Impala would be for converting to the white ambulance featured in this thread, but it does appear converted to a hover car in some shots of Marineville.

well it's close enough for now. if i ever find anything closer i'll try again but i just bid on one. i'll give it a go & see what comes of it.

the one used on screen certainly seems to be a pick up & the grill seems wrong on the impala/Elcamino still. it's worth a try.

i've always loved those ambulances. i can't live without one any more lol.

oh do tell lol.

i've been looking really closely at the ambulance pics & i'm convinced that there was more than one version using different models at different scales.

Here's my '64 Chevy fleetside, on it's final trip to the cow pasture!
Notice the little "wing" at the back of the cab. Ford didn't have those, but the ambulance looks like it might.

Thats what I thought interceptor also the grille looks more similar than the ford too, the smaller models used when Fireflash has landed look like they are based on Matchbox Vauxhall victor estate. On another note looking at other pictures of Alans car could it be based on the Mustang prototype, heres a pic

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/photo...hp/photo/17775

I dont know if a kit was produced at the time but looks similar.
