Default 'Allow myself to introduce....myself.'

Hello, my name is Sky Captain (Neville Ross), and I'm a fan of a lot of SF, including this show. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I watched Space 1999 when I was a young 'un of about 8 or 9, although I didn't understand many of the stories like I would Star Trek (which I also discovered at an early age-three!) Both shows, along with Super Friends, Battlestar Galactica (1978-1979), Buck Rogers In The 25th Century, Ark II, Jason Of Star Command, The Six Million Dollar Man/The Bionic Woman, Battle Of The Planets, etc. were what made me the SF fan that I am today. My most recent faves are Farscape, Stargate SG-1/Stargate Atlantis, Babylon 5, all of the recent Star Trek shows, Kim Possible, Justice League/Justice League Unlimitedand a lot of others I forget now.

All I can say now is, 'Nice to meet you all!'

'Kim Possible' ?

Wow. That's a dirty little secret I don't normally share in public. I didn't know anyone else over 15 watched that show.

I don't feel lonely anymore. Welcome to the forum.

I was the same age when I watched both shows! I have a photo of me at three in a toy space helmut, PJs and my snoopy

Hi and welcome.
Some of this is old news to some members here, but some of my earliest memories are of Journey to the Far Side of the Sun and a few UFO eps, but also very specifically the Star Trek episode "The Doomsday Machine."
Of course, I was a huge Space: 1999 fan from the get-go!
I remember Space Academy & Jason of Star Command, as some members already know. As cheesey as those shows are by today's standards (and admittedly, some episodes were cheesey even back in the day), I enjoyed them, and bought the dvd boxed sets when they came out a couple years ago.
I also got into Japanese animation via the American releases known as Battle of the Planets & Starblazers (Starblazers is still an absolute favourite), and later Voltron & Robotech.
Justice League & Justice League Unlimited have really grown on me; these are shows I never watched when they were new, but I'm glad to have caught many of them on Boomerang (the retro Cartoon Network channel).
So, any Valley of the Dinosaurs fans? (Yep, I'm bringing that one up again! A more accurate title would have been Basin of the Prehistoric Animals, but it just doesn't roll off the tongue as well.)
SWAT Kats fans out there? Never heard of it til about a year ago, and though it is more action than sci-fi, it has sci-fi elements in it.
Any Avatar fans?

Oh, yeah, my point: it's kind of cool how many sci-fi & fantasy shows run through our lives, isn't it?
