Default 2001 Chinese Weapons Satellite

To add to the French satellite Ajamodels has produced the Chinese one.

Only taken a few days and couldn't resist starting it as soon as I got it.

Thanks very much.

Only 9 major parts so it went together in one evening. As usual with me, the painting took the time!
Hopefully between Timeslip and Adam at Ajamodels they will complete the set and release the other two.

Now I've got two models to photograph!!

Nice work. What was your technique to get the very fine plastic rod on the edge of the long fins? I've been contemplating mine and I'm not sure how do it without making a royal mess.

I took video grabs but couldn't see any evidence of these so left them off!

Quote:
what the dimensions
L= 275mm

H= 90mm

W (at rear arrays)= 114mm

The only change I made was to replace the resin rod at the front with brass rod as it was a bit wobbly. That meant having to also scratchbuild the bit of detail about halfway up.

Default Chinese satellite

I too couldn't wait to tear into my kit and like you I replaced the resin piece that supports the forward array with a brass rod only I carefully drilled thru the detail piece to put the rod thru.

The next step will be to drill a hole thru the main body for the acrylic rod support so that when displayed it will be tilted and angled to the viewer just like it was in the movie.

I really like your base too. That is just the sort of thing I would use for my own kit.

Thanks for posting the link. Brilliant stuff.

Looking forward to someone producing the remaining two.

I had two indentical bases (not sure where from - might have been Konami vehicles but they seem a bit big to be from any of these) and just had to make the saddles to hold the kits. Pity I don't have another two in anticipation forthe next two kits!

That's me caught up with my photography for a while. Although not my favourite design of all the satellites, it has turned out quite photogenic.

The Earth in the third photo is a Terragen render. I must experiment more with this package!
