Default Terrahawks miniatures

In 1982/83 I was asked to submit sketch deigns for potential use on Terrahawks and Gerry's Thunderbirds feature project. Some got built as prototypes.....only Spacehawk made it to screen...in fact the first model made...designed and built by me at 5 feet long.
If you guys want me to post this stuff I will.

Thank you very much for posting this image. A much smaller version of this came with my Terrahawks blueprint set ages ago.

ISTR that it was built from a Caddimatic Tea Dispenser, disposable razors, Airfix (now Dapol) wagon kits and some Airfix C-130 Hercules kits

Default spacehawk

I was comissioned to do the Spacehawk very early into pre-production by Gerry and Steven Begg.
At the time all they had made was a Zeroid and nothing much else and the Bandai money men were coming over to see what was happening so Gerry wanted to have something else to show them.
All I was told is that it was to be a spacestation battleship and then I was let loose, with less than 2 weeks to do it, around my full time job.
It was clear from the outset that it was gonna be too tight to start from scratch, so I had at look at all my pre-Alien collection of half built and unfinished spaceship projects, took the front and back end off one of them, the middle off another and re-assembled these into my Spacehawk.....basically making it up as I went along.
It was delivered on time still smelling of drying paint.
Hundreds of parts went into the making of what was essentially a kit-bashed ship, utilising many household components.....as already mentioned. I make no excuse for this, except to say I wish I hadn't used the Star Wars Tie Fighter "wings", cos they were so recogniseable.
Probably not my best work but I was pleased with it and so were they.
As a result, I was actually asked if I wanted to head up the model shop, but turned it down due to loss of nerve.....DOH! Latterly, after seeing what Nick Finlyson and his crew produced, it was apparent to me that I would have been out of my depth, so I've no regrets.
Incidently, the design drawing above was finished AFTER the model. They wanted an illustration to include in the copyright contract I was asked to sign.
I also recall getting a call from Ian Scoones, who had been appointed the SFX director, asking what colour orange I'd used for the livery on the rest of the T'hawks fleet that my pal Steve Begg designed. Of course, Steven went on to direct the SFX himself....GREAT job, considering they're budget was beans!

For the aid of those of us not in GB, does anyone have a photo of the Caddimatic Tea Dispenser? I've heard these were used also in Space:1999 (Voyager's Return) but have no idea what one looks like. Google didn't either. Thanks!

There are a number of variants but they all look more or less like this rarer chrome version:

Wow, bits of eagle pod, bic razors, and shuttle cargobays with lab payloads. A kit-spotters dream! And skilfully put together too - great stuff Phil.
