Default Parts I need to build the Swift

In my quest of authenticity and accuracy (WIP thread here) I am seeking the following kit parts originally used on the studio model. There are 7 parts identified on the pictures below:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/adumas02/2664217449/ (pin01)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/adumas02/2665041950/ (pin02)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/adumas02/2665042170/ (pin03)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/adumas02/2664217541/ (pin05)

So prove me that you are all true Swift Nuts and tell me which kits I am missing here

I already have these:
- Tamiya Centurion MKIII
- Hasegawa Leopold railway gun
- Airfix Crusader III

Thanks in advance!

Parts in Pin02 are from the Leopold rail gun track and possibly the mount / hinge for the gun.

You need a Tamiya 8 wheeled armoured car (1/35th) for most of those remaining parts.

Or as it's affectionately known, the Schwarten-krappen-farten-wagen.

Paul, are you talking about parts we see in the following scan? http://www.studioscale.com/images/Ki...%20parts12.jpg

to make a long story short, I am doing a smaller Swift so I have obtained a 1/72 Airfix Harrier. However, the parts breakdown is different (as expected)but I can't find anything ressembling the parts you are talking about ...if they are wheel inserts then they are quite different in the smaller scale... )

Thanks for your input!

Okay, I'm aiming at two 1/72 blablablawagen Sdk kits on eBay, which seem close to Tamiya's:

(Roden) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=220232110506 (parts breakdown is pictured too!)

(Hasegawa) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=140241989876

Any suggestions on which I should get?

In a perfect world I would have needed 1/95th but 1/72th seems to be the closest available and I have the means to reduce needed parts by up to 50%.

I also have the means to reduce parts by any amount - it's called not watching what you're doing with a power sander!

How many kits have I had to 'fill' with P38 to make good!!

The first one is the same vehicle as the Tamiya model. The Hasegawa kit is a different vehicle...

I believe the part you need is something to do with the engine nozzle rotation which is unique to the 1:24 kit as it has a full engine inside the fuselage. You won't find anything resembling this in a smaller scale kit.

Though having said that, the parts requiring ID in Pin05 look more like tank wheels to me than anything in a Harrier kit.

Default partsfor the swift

hi all . i recently bought a 1/24 scale airfix gr1 harrier kit off ebay intending to build it as a harrier, but on examining all the parts i found that all the cockpit parts are missing, so if anyone wants to buy a nearly complete harrier kit please send me a pm. all the fuselage parts are there, also the engine and weapons bits, and the decels come with it too! cheers steve.

It's simply the same tank wheels stuck back to back.

Note the footpads have been modified after the series so don't copy them slavishly to the photos of the model as it is today. This is what they originally looked like:

There is (or certainly was) a complete aftermarket cockpit available for this kit...I'll try to dig out the details as I have one myself in storage with my kits.

Alex, is this one of your missing pieces?

This is from a 1:72 scale "60cm MORSER KARL 040 Production Type w/ Railway Carrier [German Army Self-Propelled Gun]". The kit is made by Hasegawa Corp. and I picked it up today for 50% off at my local shop as a source of kitbashing parts.

There are 4 of these parts in the kit. Yours if you want 'em.

By the way, those parts are railroad parts. The kit includes a section of track and those parts sit at the end of the track--like stops of some sort (I'm sure you railroad modelers will know what they are called).

If you are speaking to the feet I remember reading the large round was 2" dia x 5/16" thick, and the small rounds were off a 1/32 Airfix Crusader tank kit, fairly rare if I'm remembering the article correctly.

I believe those are "Panther steel wheels" from the Tamiya kit. They are a perfect match for road wheels on a steel wheeled Panther tank.

They're also in the K5 Leopold Railway gun kit...
