Default Blake's 7 - The London

I'm currently building a CG model of The London from Blake's 7 and was wondering if anyone has any good reference pics of the underside detail, I've seen a few pics on the forum of the studio model at an exhibition but wondered if anyone had any more ? Here's what I've made so far, it's not a 100% copy as I've taken a few liberties with the details.

Sorry no pics but I did have a blue print from the technical manual somewhere don't know if it had underside details I'll see if it can be found
Great work on the image -I always liked the London I think it was the boxy design plus it is a little Eagle like with its landing legs out in view

Hi,

Love the CGI model, the detailing and colouring is superb.

Hopefully these photos are of some use?

I also always liked the London, very utilitarian.

Cheers,

Andy

Yep pictures are great - the blueprint I found was very basic and was only a half view at best

Cheers for looking anyway, I've probably got enough reference to help me finish this model.

Some more photos of the London.

Someone on the B7 Horizon forum is making a 3D model so I uploaded some piccies for them.

Hope you don't mind me posting them here as well.

I've always liked this ship, very 'Eagle' like in it's practicality.

Cheers,

Andy

Bumping this thread up.

Does anyone know what was used for the part where the transfer tube comes out from?

It looks like a part from a vacuum cleaner or something similar.

Cheers,

Andy

Default The London

Nice to see my model after all these years! I built this back in 1977 as far as I remember. Looking well worn by now. This model is in Mat Irvine's collection. more pictures at www.satkinsoncreativearts.com including Ian Scoones original sketch from which I designed the ship. Alas my working drawings are no more.

Well, six years too late, I've found a couple of photos of the underside of the London!!

Hi Simon, good to see you on here!! You probably won't remember, but I asked you about the small London you made for B7 about four or five years back, and I ended up making a 3" London with the detailing of the large model. A big "thanks" for all your help!

Anyway, the pictures! I took a couple of shots of the London's underneath. I'm also including a scan of the typeface used to create the "London" graphic (it's called "Superstar Shadow" by Letraset, scanned from my 1976 Letraset catalogue), the finished graphic, and a shot of my little London in orbit!

Hope this helps anyone contemplating building one, either virtually or "for real"!

Phil

That shape means something.....

I remember a hand held torch/lantern made by Ever Ready in the early 1970's that had lamp assembly very similar to the shape, I am pretty sure the body was ABS and it used the very old rectangular battery with spring terminals. I'll see if I can find an image someplace.

*Additional:
He shoots he scores.... Perhaps, Simon can remember if it was something like this?

But isn't that transfer tube connector in 2 parts? I can clearly see a join line going horizontally across it.
