Default Big Ben Strikes Again - Transporter Truck

My son was dead keen to make the transporter truck from Captain Scalet's "Big Ben Strikes Again". I left him to it, with the only advice being plan what you want to do, make mistakes on paper.
-------------
This is a guide to show you how I made the transporters truck from the Captain Scarlet episode “Big Ben Strikes Again.”

The Transporter truck has reappeared in Captain Scarlet two more times. It was next seen in Expo 2068 and The Launching. As far as I know these are the only two other occasions that I’ve seen them in.

The first step was to make it all out of balsa wood. I began by using the block of balsa wood and crafting the cabin with a Stanley knife.

Then I painted it. Next I added on the tiny details like the light (made out of plastic pipes), the siren on the top (half of a Warhammer Tau tracking system) and the horns on the top (half of a Warhammer Tau gun).

The truck was also in Joe 90 - notably the episode 'Hijacked'.

Default The Next Stage

The next job was to make the trailer, I used balsa wood to create it. First I cut for lengths of thin balsa wood piece, each the same length. Then I glued them together, as you can see in the picture below. Lastly I painted it.

The next step was to connect it to the cabin. Using balsa wood I was able to stick the rectangular piece of balsa wood into the trailer section.

Trailer is nearly there I'll Ty my best to get pics up.. But I'm new to threads here. So it may be a while till I grasp uploading pics etc.

Haha success.. Got one pic up... I used a SDV kit (Russian make I think) for the trailer.. And tapered in the sides at the top.. I used herpa truck smooth sideskirts for the trailer skirts.. The trailer front and king pin, all made from scraps.. The cab is on a herpa truck chassis, again with smooth sideskirts fitted. The cab is from a KIBRI grader kit cut down on height.. Sleeper compartment is made from lego and scrap plastic..

If you wish for any info, I'll try my best to reply ASAP.

Thanks
Andy

I am currently building another transporter, but the one from expo2068, using an SDV kit.. I am hoping to have a working shutter door on the trailer, using the door and mounting from the matchbox lesney rentaset TV van..

Also whilst you are reading this, I have made change to the half cab truck, it's now on a shorter chassis as I wasn't really happy with the length.. Just a few filling and filing, then time for paint and the finer details.
