Default Space:1999 autograph collecting

Having gotten the above signed at conventions over the last year or so, my New Year's resolution was to get back into getting autographs through the post, and 1999 is the one series I want to concentrate on in particular. If they were in the background of one scene, if they had two lines and were utterly crap, don't care. Want them all.

Sent out a batch of pictures last week, and got the first one back today:

Fear my picture of Dr Ed! Fear it!

Yes, he looks very sunburnt there. The original pic isn't like that.

Yay for what came in today's post!

He also included two other little pictures (with a reply written on the back of one) and a little bookmark/ad for his book thingy.

Great colour pictures - I wouldn't mind printing some of them to add to my Space 1999 scrap book. Where do these come from or do you crop and paste them from different sources ?

They're pictures I've made myself, mostly using screengrabs...

Caroline Mortimer does not behave nicely in times of war.

Actually she does, cos she wrote me a nice note too.

But you have to admit, she does look good in that little outfit she's wearing!

great autograph collection and really nice photo scans - keep on posting them.
If you happen to have Yasko's photo scan and autograph amongst your collection, feel free to feature on your thread - hint, hint.

I'll post scans here as and when (or if) I get the pictures back through the post, but since I don't have an address for Yasuko Nagazumi I fear my collection might lack a Yasko picture for some time...

Anyway, here's Gary Waldhorn. Think he can fill that chair for a while?

Here's an old success, from back in 2006 when I had my first flurry of trying to get autographs through the post. I think I only tried about 3 or 4 people before giving up, but one of them was Zienia Merton. Sent her this picture -

- she sent it back signed, and included another photo as well because the one I'd sent had gotten a bit crumpled in the post.

That missing chunk at the top left is from where my dog chewed on it. She was just a pup at the time, and thought she'd help out by opening my post for me. Bless.

Zienia wrote me a little note too.

I like getting notes from Space:1999 people. Zienia, Prentis Hancock, John Hug, Sam Dastor and Caroline Mortimer have all done that now...

That's quite a collection you have going there.

Out of interest, are there any attempts you have made that have met with no reply ?

At the moment, in order of them being sent out, I'm waiting on:

Alibe Parsons (Alibe)
Michael Culver (Pete Irving in Guardian of Piri)
Brian Blessed (Dr Rowland / Mentor)
Hildegarde Neil (Elizia in Devil's Planet)
Jeffery Kissoon (Ben Vincent)
Martin Landau (?)
Roy Dotrice (Commissioner Simmonds)
Joan Collins (Kara in Mission of the Darians)
Peter Bowles (Balor in End of Eternity)
Gay Hamilton (Eva Zoref in Force of Life)
Bernard Cribbins (Brian/Captain Michael in Brian the Brain)
Freddie Jones (Dr Logan in Journey to Where)
Raymond Harris (Y1 extra)
Jack Klaff (Y2 security guard)

Those were all sent between the start of February and just a few days ago. I know I won't get them all back (Landau's a long shot, sure, but I've only failed if I haven't tried) but here's hoping for some of them...

Great pics! Thanks for sharing.

Did you all know that Suzanne Roquette (Tanya) had a small part in "Band of Brothers"? She was the unhappy Nazi widow near the end of the series. She was only on screen for a few seconds.

We could all do with a bit of Gay Hamilton on Alpha.

And she wrote me a note too!

I remember working on Space 1999 very well. I think you have done a wonderful job producing the photograph and I'm very proud and happy to sign it.

Yay!

This is a neat project! I think the photos you've made treat the show--and more important, the actors--with duly deserved respect.

I'm glad to see such a positive and voluminous response from the actors, too.

Please keep sharing this with us, as it's great fun to see.
