Default "Lost in Space" Actor Has Died

not sure if this has been posted anywhere else yet or exactly which area to put it?

Bob May -- who played The Robot in "Lost in Space" -- died early this morning at the Lancaster Community Hospital in California.

A rep for Bob said he was taken to the hospital on Friday, and died at around 3 AM this morning of congestive heart failure.

Back in November, Bob had a stroke soon after a fire consumed his California home.

Patricia Arthur, May's long time friend and agent, "Asks all his fans to take a moment of silence as one of Science Fiction's greatest has passed. Family and friends will miss him dearly."

Bob was 69.

I met Bob once at Wonderfest a couple years ago. He was in the hallway at one point and one of the local police officers who volunteers for security at the show handed Bob his cell phone to talk to the person on the other end to convince her that he was at the show with THE robot from Lost In Space. It was a pretty funny conversation too for the bit I heard on my end.

RIP Bob, you will be missed.

I met Bob too a few years back when he came over to England for a con. What a bloody good fella he was. We chatted for ages and he entertained all of those standing around him pretty much all day. Sad stuff!

Oh dear! I hope he is now in Heaven meeting his loved ones and hopefully not Dr Smith passing by on a cloud saying "what time does one call this, you mechanical monovalent of menace!"

Quite - I will raise a glass of Chateau Fleet Street to his memory!
'She who must be obeyed' told me to.
