Default Thunderbirds in HD - What have you spotted?

So for those of us embracing the new releases and enjoying Thunderbirds in high-def, what have you spotted?

I'm currently watching Martian Invasion, and was amused to see a hand pushing rocks out of the way when the water starts pouring into the cave mouth

I was reading the 'Anderson Facts' book i have and it says that a hand is visible when Captain Blue falls off Cloudbase. I have never seen this episode. I also remember reading about a G-clamp in several episodes...

Yes - in The Inquistion you can see a hand lob Captain Blue out the window. Hands (or bits of them) also turn up in The Uninvited (lifting Tin-Tin) and in Path of Destruction...

Or the hand that tips over the bridge in 'Noose of Ice':

Here's a G-clamp in Tbirds, when the roof collapses in 'City of Fire':

Oh yes, anyone notice the Martian Space Probe transporter Jacknife just before it falls off the bridge? Surely the rocket was still on at this time? And why did the rocket fall off, surely it was more securely attached! (nit picking i know sorry)

If you watch the Stingray episode when they're trapped in a volcano underwater ("Deep Heat"?), when the wall and roof of the underwater base falls down during the eruption (for 'wall' read 'blanket') you can see the real brick studio wall and roof behind.

It's difficult to tell - but could that be Troy Tempest being lobbed down into the chasm in Terror in New York City?

Poor Troy You know, I hate that ep because of TB2, but I love it for the rest of the story.

I'm the opposite. I love it for all the close ups of TB2.

Default End of the Road...

It's Scott that jumps from the tractor at the end. I assume Eddie was a Plastecine sculpt and the production crew didnít want to get him damaged for any further shooting.

Also, Virgil crops up a lot in Trapped in the Sky Ė or rather the basic puppet head does, with different wigs, as part of the air crew that hoist Meddings under Fireflash.

Not spotted anything else amazing yet, but have noticed a bit of product placement - some Kellogg's cornflakes in Edge of Impact, and adverts for Camel and Coca-Cola in 30 Minutes after Noon.

Spotted two mistakes in End of the Road today which were probably always visible but I just never noticed before - the line of javelins set up to protect the tractor from falling rocks keep appearing and disappearing during the rescue. Also, just after TB2 is launched we cut to the workmen fretting about Eddie and the shot's being played in reverse because the rain is going up rather than down...

Also noticed the appearance of dials marked TEMP C, on Jeff's TV and radio, in helijets, TB1, everywhere. The ones behind Jeff get a nice big closeup in Desperate Intruder and are then covered over with tape from 30 Minutes onwards.

These are cool too, especially in the hangar, but its so sad to see the first model meet such and end. One thing that puzzled me in the ep and in various others where people use the guys names..... how could the Tracys remain incognito when Jeff tells everyone who he is? Martian invasion is another situation where at the end the guys are called by their names. The magic of the 21st century I guess.

Well, a couple of the Thunderbird 2 models. Judging by the markings at least two models were used in that sequence.

It would be interesting to go through them and work out which is which. Its the crash scene that breaks my heart. Well put together because it gets the emotions going... and the first was the best model to me. I like the wider side intakes for one thing, and that mysterious colour was never recaptured.

Didn't they destroy the TB2 model which wasn't quite the right shape and which the crew hated?

It wasn't destroyed but the subsequent repair work changed the shape and some of the markings. There a fierce pyro burning away on top of the nose and the repair work to that left TB2 with a flattened nose contour.
