Default "V" Skyfighter model to be available from SAW

Hi all.

I'm making available the "V" ship in all versions as seen in the 1980's TV show.

It'll be studio scale and completely modular. (the biggest version is coincidentally, about 44" long!)

I'll post more info here later....

Just a heads up FYI for now for all interested.

Think the phrase "oh bugger" springs to mind
Never liked the fighter but loved the transporter version.

Here is a collage of parts I have made so far.

They will allow you to build whatever version of the ship you want, from the small fighter version (front and back parts not shown, but you can see one on my web site in my Gallery section) complete with landing gear, or any of the other versions from the three-segment "Squad Vehicle" to the 8 segment "Stretch Limo" version. or any other one you can dream of, based on the modular design of the original.

Grant Van Groenigen is in the process of molding the nose and tail of the ship, based on a much cleaned-up studio model casting (!!!!). I'm still working on all the other parts of the craft. I will also do the tanker version of the ship if there is enough interest, but it will be expensive, as the ship's finished length is about 44" long and is highly detailed and complex.

I will strive to keep the prices as low as I can, but remember these are large, and "Studio Scale", and done in extremely limited numbers for finterested fans, not on the open market like most kits.

I've not seen "The Visitors" but Jim showed my some images of the "V" ship he's building. Well, if you like the idea behind the Eagle, you certainly must like this ship as well.

I'm always facinated whatching you modelling experts building all sorts of things.

Please keep us updated on this project

I'd certainly be interested in a skyfighter. Have you thought of the Tanker.

Ah sorry, I guess I need to clean the fuzz from my eyes.

(It's getting late over here).

I always liked the V designs, well at least the Skyfighter series and the mothership, some of the additional ships from the weekly series like the particle beam Triax weren't exactly inspiring.

I'm trying to remember if the Leaders shuttle was a standard ship with some extra markings or different in any other way.

The Leaders shuttle looks to be a regular 3 segment shuttle with different markings.

Hi!

Just to let you know, I have built and finished a prototype model from one
of the new molds which I am auctioning off on Ebay. I needed to build one to
make sure the parts and decals worked etc. All the details you need to
know are in the auction listing.

I am selling this one-off prototype to help fund the rest of the project .

Thanks.

Hi Jim,

Nice looking kit. I confess that I'm not all that into a studio scale model (I don't hink I'd be able to afford it anyway). I was wondering what references you used for your kit in order to build a 1/48 scale model. I've never found much on the web.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks,

Art

Jim's working with a casting from the original model as a reference.
