Tools My Space 1999 Builds

Here are some pictures of what I've been building over the last few months. Most are works in progress I hope to complete very soon...

This picture shows the Monitoring Depot I built from scratch. I've made it so I can put a red or white bulb inside to light up the interior windows (it looks really great with a red bulb). My plan is to build this on a moonscape with a mountain going around the base (paint-stained cloth represents here) and a launch pad to the side including a docking bay to the building. The Rescue Eagle was a PE Transporter I painted with more accurate stripes as I really hate what they issued.

Here is the top of the Monitoring Depot where I got a little heavy handed on the paint job, I might repaint that but it was my first use of an airbrush. I built the Hanger Light with actually LED lights that run off a 12-volt battery and have five others in various states waiting to be completed. The pillar, pipe and base are purchases from Phil Rae of actual pieces from the series with original paint. My plan is to add that to the full piece, build a launch base on top to fit the Airfix Hawk I'm building. They are loose pieces that just happen to fit that way.

Here is a close-up of the Nuclear Cargo Pod from Warp I built. Tried to match up with the same details I've see on pictures of the original. Can't tell but the canisters are speckled like the originals. It doesn't fit into the PE Eagle anymore which happened when it got dropped and broke... I've taken a PE Freighter and removed the winch for that kinda play.

Soon I'll post some pictures of the monitoring depot as it was built from scratch. Check Here as they are loaded.

Awesome work!
I've always loved the monitoring building. Did you work off KY's plans?

That looks stunning. And amazing work with the airbrush, especially if that's your first attempt with it!

Look forward to more photos of your progress.

Try Pro Mod (forum member), as he has the original radar. I'm also in the process of building one from dimensions taken directly from it.

I think that guy in the moon buggy is making a suicidal run for the edge of the table...

"I've got to get out of here, Commander! Now!!!"

Seriously, great work!

Excellent work, Eagle12. The monitoring depot is a great choice for a diorama subject. Nice work!

Thanks... I need to finish it as a diorama attached to an Eagle launch pad. It does look great lit up with a red light on my desk next to that cardboard pad and PE Eagle... hopefully soon it will be finished.

Thanks for the re-spark on this... it made me sit down and sketch out a few ideas I had for the diorama. I'll put this back on the top list to complete.

Here's a quick little beauty shot with a crappy camera...
