Default Thunderbirds 2009 Fan Film

Hi! Me again
You might remember me from other such fan films as TB1/TB2/TB3 launch and Doctor who Mission to the Unknown.
As an experiment my film crew and i are doing a live action Thunderbrids fan film entitled "Thunderbirds 2009" (working title).

The film will use some real sets and CGI fx

Currently the films fx are 90% complete and all uniforms and props are made, set construction and filming is about to start.

Please feel free to view the Teaser or the occasionally updated site.

Main site

Appologies for using CGI on a model making forum and hope you enjoy it.

Like the style of what you're doing here Chris - much more appealing than the Witless Talent effort !

Well, there was my little effort:

Although I'm not sure whether it can be classed as a fan film

Great trailer-perfect edits on the craft!

One question- why did you use the movie version of Thunderbird 3?

.

What program did you use for the explosions?

Well all the Thunderbirds have subtle differences (tb1s tail section, bits of TB2 all of TB5 etc)
Well in a wierd way i thought the movie Thunderbird 3 was pretty cool and i figured it would look beter in the story. i did have a few issues with it such as the Fireball XL5 style windows etc and its thinness, so i kind of merged the 2. to create this TB09 version...

(Thats a test photo of the model i changed the retros to black like in the series since then)

In the film she handles much more like the origional in terms of interior and manuvering almost like a submarine as opposed to the fly by joystick one the film gave us. It still however retains the sleekness of the film version which i liked. It also with luck, looks big.

It was all done in IMovie. Quite appropriately for this forum, I chromakeyed in explosions from Breakaway for the Tracy Island and the Telsat Explosion from Ricochet for the destruction of TB5.

Glad you enjoyed it

Ok thanks. How do you use the chroma key? Never really got the hang of it. And is it iMovie 08?
