Default Who liked the ULTRA PROBE?

"DRAGON'S DOMAIN"

Did you like the exterior ship? I did.

Did you like the interior Set of the Ultra Probe? I did.

"DRAGON'S DOMAIN" must have inspired the movies ALIEN(1979) and ALIENS(1986) just substituted Lt. Ripley for Tony Cellini?

"DRAGON'S DOMAIN" After escaping the Ultra Probe(creature onboard), Cellini survives in Ultra Probe Command Module until he is recovered..then returns to confront the monster and prove it existed.

ALIEN(1979) After destructing the Nostromo, Ripley survives in Narcissus Shuttle until she is recovered....then returns to confront the monster and prove it existed in ALIENS(1986).

"DRAGON'S DOMAIN" could be remade as a reboot movie.

Loved the exterior. One of the most believable ships in the series. Not quite so taken with the interior although the cockpit part is good.

Default DX-SFX I agree

DX-SFX, I agree, the interior set part that was the best was the Command Module cockpit!

It was definitely my favorite spacecraft in the series. The command module separation sequence never gets old.

Ok probably my favorite episode, and love the ship. I would love to see it as something in scale with a 22" Command Module. I wonder how long it would be at that scale?

Yes, the Ultraprobe was a great design and I would love to built a version of the 3' Model in the future!
Are there any good drawings around ? I know, the originals were all different in the detailing but for a close replica, you will need the correct basic dimensions and a list of the used EMA tubings and kit parts...
Any ideas ???
Unfortunatly the chance for an kit should be near zero...

Cant wait for Alex Dumas Swift ((((-: !

Best wishes...

Metric UP's cost more.

They're both made out of basic imperial EMA tube. The framework and tees for the two and a half footer is all based around 1/16th" EMA rod and fittings. I don't know of any commercial drawings but you can scale it easily by the kit parts and some side profile photos.

No, still sitting on the shelf. Funnily enough I was looking at it just the other day thinking about doing some more. It's so close to being done.

Just a beautiful design, like an Eagle but larger and sleeker!

Me too! I love just about anything you can stick an Eagle CM on! Could be that's why I've built 5 probe ships now, from just afew inches long to over 2 feet. And, say, there's till a Mattel Eagle CM waiting to be used!

I was always impressed with it too. And that's a stunning photo of Jim Small's version, by the way.

With the Ultra Probe, its streamlined and very elegant. It is what an manned interstellar spacecraft should be.

I'm very partial to all of the what I call "the Martin Bower Mega-Rockets". I very much like the UP, but am even more taken with the Altares.

Has anyone determined what kit parts are on the larger UP?

I love the Ultra Probe.

BTW, who can help? What are the kit parts on top of the six tanks at the rear of the smaller UP?
