Seriously though, is this for real? I would think the admin must be a nightmare.

I'm sure "Eagle" is just venting some momentary personal frustration, I hardly think he'd seriously consider selling. If it were a serious offer I'm sure those closely associated would jump and, as such, there would be no need for a generalized posting of intention.

Take a deep breath "Eagle", you're doing fine...

I agree but if you are serious the price is right you know who to come to.Of course I have to take into depreciation as an factor.

Im. 75%+ serious.

Hand on heart, I really don't feel I can devote the necessary time to the board (or domain) any more; meaning that I can't devote enough time to do it justice.

I've got so many other things going on* in my life (and have done for quite some time now) it's just a constant frustration that I never get the time.

*Nothing grave or anything - just business etc, needing my full-time attention.

I don't know. Maybe it's time for someone to take it in a new direction?

That 'new direction' would be -- at best -- a downward sprial. I suggest you consider spreading the load; I'm sure there are suitable volunteer administrators.

There's not much of a load as such to be honest - the board pretty much runs itself - I just think it's 'stagnating'... maybe? Or have we reached a kind of 'middle age' (like most of us! ) and we're just 'content'?

It's ticking along nicely, especially after the recent adjustment. Change for the sake of change is not often a good thing. If it is to take a different tack, perhaps the wise thing is to let it do so of its own course.

If he wants to sell, let him sell.

I am thinking about it it has to be the right price and must take depreciation as an factor. If I decide to buy, things will remain the same with no changes and I will put that in writing.

I had the domain valued yesterday at between $2500 and $5000 US. The upper end of that was what I'd had in mind as a start point for bids...

Well, that was rude. Neal is as entitled to an informed opinion as anyone else. And if your response is any indication of the way you might operate a forum given the chance, it seems that opinion might not be too far wide of the mark.

Explain to me how an asset like this can possibly be said to have depreciated?

I am sure all of the financial details will have to be worked out.If I do decide to buy it the forum would remain as is and I will put that it in writing.I always keep my pledges.
