Default New Episodes of "The Prisoner"

On November 15th, AMC will present The Prisoner miniseries, a reinterpretation of the British 1960s cult hit series starring and co-created by Patrick McGoohan. Jim Caviezel will play "Number Six" and Ian McKellen will play "Number Two".

Looks very Good.

Cool! "be seeing you"? Sounds like someone was a B5 fan! Now a trivia question: Is the lighthouse from the original Prisoner the one seen near the end to the UFO episode "Timelash"?

You are right. I cannot wait for this. They have a lot of heavy hitters in this new series.

Patrick McGoohan appeared in (and wrote for) several episodes of "Columbo". In at least two of the early episodes he says a slightly emphasised "be seeing you" to the the Lieutenant as a bit of a nod and a joke.

I think the lighthouse from 'The Girl Who Was Death' was the one at Beachy Head. Can't remember a lighthouse in 'Timelash' - a purple blouse I definitely remember, but no lighthouse - must be time to watch it again!

Near the end on the backlot, where Straker winds up shooting the guy driving the small car. There's a ridge in the background and what looks like the bottom of a prop lighthouse. Not sure what the one in the Prisoner looked like, ad I don't have the Prisoner on DVD and it has been along time since I've seen it. I just always wonder if that happens to be the same one when I happen to watch Timelash. Lovely Col. Lake in purple is a good part of that episode too!

Maybe then it was a tip of the hat to The Prisoner instead. Cool either way!

Walter Koenig (Trek's Chekov) is a big Prisoner fan, so he added that to his character in B5

The Lighthouse was Beachy Head, near Eastbourne, East Sussex.

It is now unmanned, having been fully automated in the 1980s

I've seen 3 episodes (2 more on tonight) it's getting really hard to watch. Very slow and disjointed

I've seen the original only once and many years ago. The payoff in the last episode for all the mysteries of the series was not really there...still have no idea what it was, except for a guy in a gorilla mask and driving through the streets to the tune of "All You Need is Love".
Nah, no spoilers here...it would take too long to explain, I think.
This one is kinda spelled out, if you can deal with the disjointedness of the presentation. I think in the end it became a very different story. Similar to the "Galactica effect" in some ways. Did love the main cast, though.

I enjoyed it throughly even though at some points it was slow.

Just watched the last episode and all I can say is I'm glad I didn't waste anymore of my life on the previous episodes. WTF was that all about?
