Default My Warp Hawk

Wor Lass. Got me a v gently hinted at Hawk Mk 9 for Christmas. Two bits are broke and badly cast. Do you just shrug and fix it or are they meant to be OK

Its the ladder style cage on the top and the airfix harrier wepons pod. which is a blob. Haven't made a kit for 30 years. Also which orange do I get???
Sorry everyone but there are so many threads to go thru..

There's a guy on E-bay selling Warp kits. He has helped people before who had bad cast or missing parts. I think it is mr. Warp himself (but I'm not sure).

This is his shop on e-bay.

http://shop.ebay.com/nutcrackerdb/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25

I think the best you can do is send him an e-mail.

Most of the surviving models have become fairly grubby over the years and some ageing/discolouration has occured but if you look through the layer of grime, the Hawk is basically white primer underneath.

I see you get a matt BR signal orange (1970`s circa)

would that have been the orange they used?

For mine, I used Humbrol 82 which is Matt, over White Primer

The funny thing is that Humbrol changed the formula several years ago. The original was basically a much thinned matt polyurethane varnish. The current spray they now do is similar to the Testors one, assuming I'm remembering it correctly.

Strepsils all round.
Is there anything I can do to get round the rather solid engine bells? Or should I just accept it.

Having looked at original hawk, struck by how detailed kit is compared to my airfix relic.
Also struck by how much kits have changed. This stuff is so brittle. Trimming with a new stanley blade but flakes off in all the wrong places.
