M41-A
Pulse Rifle Poster

BACKGROUND:
As
featured in the acclaimed sci-fi-horror, Aliens (1986), the ARMAT
M41-A Pulse Rifle instantly became one of the most famous (and most
believable) sci-fi weapons in movie history. The M41A is a 10 mm
pulse-action air-cooled automatic assault rifle, which is the basic
rifle of the U.S. Colonial Marine Corps and the U.S. Army in the
Alien series of films. The standard service variant has an
over-and-under configuration and incorporates a 30 mm pump-action
grenade launcher for area effect. After landing on LV426 via the
Sulaco and then the dropship, the Pulse Rifle and M240A1 Flame
Thrower units were used by Ripley, Hicks, Hudson, Vasquez and the
rest of the Colonial Marines in their struggle against the alien
attackers

FEEDBACK:

Movie
history: The M41A Pulse Rifle was designed by James Cameron and
built by British armorers Simon Atherton and Andrew Fletcher. The
weapon was bashed from the components of three real-world firearms
supplied by prop armory Bapty & Co.). The rifle component was a
World War II Thompson M1A1 submachine gun whilst the grenade
launcher was built around the action of a Remington 870 pump-action
shotgun. The shotgun was then encased inside the shroud and foregrip
of a Luigi Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun
