Another WARP Eagle transporter build!

eagle2010

Alphans
I Turned my attention from the 44" Eagle build to the 12" WARP Eagle and can't put it down! I spent the last 8 hours sanding and filing the metal flash from the cages, spine, shoulder pods and landing gear. I then sanded the floor panel down for the WARP version and assembled it. You can see the flash in the metal parts in the pic in which the eagle is not sitting on the poly sheet. They are ready for assembly once I paint and detail them. I should be getting the aluminum bells and vtols from Mike soon to make it shine! :brows:

Thanks Chris. This kit is coming together nicely. Its very time consuming as far as prep goes. I was a little worried when I first unpacked it, but it is turning out to be a very nicely detailed Eagle. :)

Hm, this is strange. Your flash on the metal parts was far less than mine, and also your pod is of different material. Where did you order this from and when? Maybe something changed for the better (or this is an old buy, so it changed for the worse). :)

Just got my bell set from Mike. Very well done work:clap: My camera does no justice to the amount of detail these little pieces have. I put them next to the 44" set he made as well to show how tiny they really are.

More progress made today. Got most of the main pieces painted and used the charcoal to weather the shelves and walkways before assembling the cages. Still more work to be done on the passenger pod, filling seams and such. Starting to see how nice this is going to be once the final finish goes on! :D

It's amazing how a few "upgrade" parts can really make this kit so exciting. This is looking very good indeed.

Only comment I have to make is the close up pictures are more than your camera can deliver. Use long shots so we can see better please :wtf: :D

Went to the local electronics store and picked one up. Lets see how this turns out against the ole cell phone! I still have some touch ups to do. Hands aren't as steady as they use to be.

Don't know if anyone can see the build or not since its been moved. Anyway, here are some more pics. I drilled out the cast sensors and inserted the machined sensors from Mike. I used 4 different drill bits to gradually remove the material, less risk of a resin disaster!:O It really made a difference. Still more detailing, cleanup of some rough areas and few little things that bug me. Going to make mounting brackets for the pod so it can be removed like the original. Btw...this thing has got some weight to it! Just holding it, feels like a real quality piece. I am very impressed with this kit.

Thanks for the comment Chris. I'm going to try airbrushing some weathering details this weekend. Hope things turn out ok. This will be a first for me!
