Building in lego...

Hi guys,
Thought a few of you might be interested in a slightly off the wall project with Lego. I suffered a massive accident this year and have been kinda immobile, so I started a Lego Eagle of biblical proportions... actually only minifigure scale, but at nearly a meter in length it is going to be a monster Lego model.
I noticed a thread elsewhere about Lego, but as everyone in here seemed to be talking about their model builds so I thought I would drop a curve ball in. :)

As ever I am waiting for another Lego delivery to finish off the command module. Work on the lattice 'backbone' is underway and I am able to use 3.2mm stainless as an armature without using any glue or altering the Lego pieces. So far there is almost no glue on this model at all and there is no additional strengthening. It is robust enough for my seven year old and has interior detail to allow mini figures of Alan (to be sourced) to be inserted and removed.
Anyway, a bit of fun and hopefully not too out-there for serious model makers. :D

More details and a write up are at

Let me know what you think.

Out there? Of course it's out there!!!

And all the better for being so. This is a great piece of work, and I'm sure I'm not alone in encouraging you to post more pictures as the project progresses.

Without wishing to know your business, best wishes for recovery from your immobility problems or, at least, for an increasing ability to deal with them. Certainly haven't dented your creative abilities!

Kindest regards and best wishes,

Swine Flu

I like building Mega Construx Call of Duty vehicles, the details are fantastic, The hovercraft is huge! They look like movie props once they've been built up, They also have figures & zombies, Fun!
